• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any recent info on Madstad Wind Shields? Impressions & Opinions?

I’ve had Madstad on numerous bikes most recently my ‘17 F3L. Have always been impressed with them. The angle and height adjustability is very useful. And they are nicely styled, not like some that look like a LRson screen door on the bike. They made a spl height for my Spyder because I am...

Lamonster handlebar risers vs Rox risers - any comparison?

I’m not trying to highjack this post but I am curious why you went to risers? Are you tall with long arms? Tall which make the bars feel too low?

F3 Limited windshield comparison - anyone done one?

Be sure to check out Madstad. I’ve had them on numerous bikes and have been impressed with all. The angle and height are easily adjustable. I am 6’5” and the made a spl 24” tall one for no additional charge. Very sturdy and well-made. They have less buffeting because of the Madstad-effect...

Can I use Mobil1 10W/40 Synthetic oil (Not MC) in my Spyder?

I do not understand peoples desire to use oil other than what's specified by the manufacturer? Do you think you know more than the manufacturer and the aftermarket is better?? Is it cost? Paid $30K for a bike and you risk damaging it to save a couple bucks every 10K miles? Is it so you can...

    Belt Tensioner for 17 F3L

I’m ready to order a belt tensioner. Appears Lamonster has the modified BRP model and SlingMods has the SpyderExtras. Price aside, I like the idea of the bigger roller/bearings on the Lamonster setup. The idea of losing the roller and asking out belt scares me. I would appreciate hearing...

Anyone have experience with the Madstad windshield?

I’ve had a few Madstad on numerous bikes. All worked very well. The ability to tilt and change height is great for different seasons. I am 6’5” so they made a SPL 24” high shield for my ‘17 F3L. Highly recommended.

    Glove and Boot Recommendations

Check out Bates boots. They have a couple motorcycle-specific boots which I did not care for the styling. I bought another model that is a 6” lace-up with a zipper. Apparently a popular choice for beat cops. They are light, comfortable and waterproof. Great for walking in too.

Anyone have experience with the Madstad windshield?

    Belt Tensioner

The belt on the Spyders is twice as long as on a Harley or other belt-Drive bikes. That’s why they need an idler/tensioner.

    Airhawk

I’ve had different brands of custom seats on multiple bikes and got marginal comfort improvement. An AirHawk does much more than any of them for a fraction of the cost. Love mine. Use it every ride. As some have mentioned they are best with very little air in them. Your butt should touch...

    f3 windshield height

Look into a Madstad shield. I’vehad Them on a number of bikes and all worked well. The Madstad “effect” allows some air to bypass on bottom to break negative pressure behind shield which is what causes buffeting. Their website has a nice explanation. Plus you get a few inches of height...

    Dynamic wheel balancer from Lamonster

I have used DynaBeads for years on many different bikes which is same principle. They worked great in all cases. The Centramatic that Lamonster sells are likely good product but a little pricey. I’d like to try them.
