• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Pairiing ECM to GBPS Hi, After you changed the vehicle configurations in buds did you write the data before and after you initialized the ecm. You will may need to accept changing the cluster coding. I.e. Pairing the ECM to the vehicle. Make sure you pair it in neutral. Also you may need to...

Compairison between Belt vibration --Smooth Spyder versus Baker-Built

Made for us version The Australian bikes have smaller rear sprocket with shorter belts hence the BRP roller sits about 1.5 inches lower = lower tension on belt. It still improved 60 mph vibrations. I now notice vibrations on foot boards from engine vibrations and handle bar vibrations a little...

    Belt tensioner.

POM Du Pont Delrin / Ertacetal = Polyacetal Resin Yes I would have preferred class 12.9 bolts (1220 Mpa Tensile Strength) but it is hard to find class 12 nuts so I would have to make do with class 10 nuts. Polyacetal (Acetal POM) is basically a Thermosetting Plastic it is hard, stiff...

Lower 2 bolts or uppers Hi, Two bolts under the front foot pegs. Drill the head off. If you drill both heads off and drill out some of the bolt from head side you can take it all to a bench. OR Heat the bolt from behind slightly on the threaded bit hanging out. Go from behind with a set of...

Down under Austrailian ? expensive spyders.

I purchased the first bike sold by Western Motorcycles 42 years ago and have given them my patronage ever since, to help the family stay in business. I did purchase $12,500 $us worth of genuine BRP products from the dealer to set the f3s up. Not e bay specials. It is our high taxes that make up...

Down under Austrailian ? expensive spyders.

Yes and our Australian dollar was also on par, worth more than a US dollar in feb 2012 we could get 107 US OR 107 Canadian dollars for our 100 Australian. And like you we still paid more for a Spyder. But we also paid a lot more than Canadians. 32 k US / Canadian at that time. Our dealers and a...

Down under Austrailian ? expensive spyders.

Australia's free trade agreements especially with China has all but destroyed our manufacturing industry. We do not even produce cars here any more. No more ford Falcons or GM holdens. so producing a bike is out of the question. As an experienced automotive engineer and licenced machinist I...

    Shorter-reach bars

Take your handle bar off, they then cut just after first bend. A sleeve is an insert machined at the same diameter as the bars with both ends machined down to go inside the bar. they can then tig weld it to you bar after marking the parts to align properly. they then can polish the joints and...

All model f3 have the same lower steering column p/n 709401397. Theoretically. Try ordering the p/n 709401680 black lift posts X 4 and the p/n 231103060 Srew socket m10 x130 mm. I would get these and try them as the cheapest quick fix not sure what colour they are could be yellow but black...

thanks I do not know why but shipping costs from Canada are about 10% more for me. The free trade agreements are being looked at here to adjust our import duties/ taxes so I have to consider that. Should be better off here in about 3 years for imports but our manufacturing industries are just...

thanks. I am an automotive engineer and licenced mechanic, I can get around compliance. They have relaxed a couple more of the rules last year so I am talking with Canberra to see what the fine print is. I have been through the process to get compliance plates green ones for several cars as they...

Down under Austrailian ? expensive spyders.

Down under Australian ? expensive spyders. Australia buys direct from BRP Canada and our conversion costs are based on exchange rate which is about $1 Canadian for $1 Aust. Luckily USA residents pay (or should pay) about 25% less than Canadians OR Australians, for BRP products due to exchange...
