• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gone to Doc. Fast attacks. Flasher, Greenling, Sunfish. TAD for a few months on Barb. Rode many of the FBMs and D5 boats as a TRE scribe. :).

Just a plug...I have a new set for 15 and earlier RT in the for sale @ $400. Someone grab 'em before they get tossed in the back of the barn. We're tired of tripping over the box.

    Antenna Missing? Snapped off?

My 2012 did it at I think 1200 miles. Antenna 'unscrewed' itself and it and the boot were gone. As it was never parked in an uncontrolled area (it went to work and back and work was controlled parking area), I put it down to bad assembly/no locktite. Put on a walmart shorty but the...

RT-S with new owner - of course something breaks :(

My 2012 had an electric frunk switch, I don't know why it was dropped later, but you can buy it as a kit and install. The electric seemed to have a stronger spring and when you hit the frunk release switch it 'popped' up. Glad to hear it's working correctly now, it's a bit of a stretch to push...

RT-S with new owner - of course something breaks :(

Wonderful ride to Charlotte and a nice half-day spent with new owner. Got a call this morning that the frunk won't latch....:banghead: Never had the issue on the 12 or this 14, he already tried removing the rolling luggage out, and tested the latch by hand and it works fine. All i've ever...

Another DESS Error problem - AGAIN!!!

Happily never a DESS issue, on the Spyder or my Seadoos (which also had a run of DESS problems). For those of you with a State lemon law, don't be afraid to use it. Do not put up with repeat crap, four or more tries to fix OR at total of 20 business days out of service. Here is the NC...

    Camera Advice

I use an SJ4000 wifi, helmet mounted. Cheap as chips, has been through all kinds of weather. I use it mostly on the sportbike, video quality is fantastic. This is on one of the lowest resolutions: https://www.flickr.com/photos/117138176@N06/shares/tD3KYY

    RT 2014 or 2015?

Nope. The '14 is rock solid (a few DESS complaints but rare), and otherwise the bikes are the same. You can probably save a couple grand under the '15 (or more) and use it for farkles :)

    Vendor Vampires

Have a nibble on selling the spyder but if that falls through I'll be making a reservation for 'off the reservation'. May even do it without a spyder and bring a two wheeler. My thoughts on the bruhaha.....300 bikes for 15k....pick a different venue, go to all Ryder paid food, don't reserve...

    Vendor Vampires

Doc, the 'event' for me is the roads out there and the vendors. You guys setup somewhere and arrange a Spyderlovers price on some rooms and I'll take a chance on the weather and make a reservation where you guys setup. I'm not doing the Spyders in the Smokies and 'bleh' to Fontana, but I'm up...

    Air in the System?

I hope they gave you full value back on that RT. Should be zero depreciation considering it was within many states lemon law and you spent more time screwing with issues than riding. Best of luck with the F3!

    Tri-axis (yes, another TA thread)

I'm leaning that way. I took my 2012 RT down to parade rest when installing tons of farkles, one of the reasons this bike has remained largely farkeless....the RT has a way of swallowing dropped fasteners in impossible to reach cubbys, and I just hate (read...hate), removing the mirrors for any...

    Shorter rider input needed.

I don't like chrome either but for $500 I'll either spray flat black matte or coat with plasti-dip. $125 is $125!!!! I'm the same nut that spent $600 to turn my little CBR into a Repsol replica cuz the dealer wanted $1200 more for the Repsol replica :).

    Dealer Hitch Install

Assumin I keep the trike, going to have the hitch done at rear time replacement time. Save a little on the labor.

    Shorter rider input needed.

Shop around. I just bought the chrome version of the Tri-Axis new for $500. It lists @$799 vice the $625 for the black. I also had to shop around the install, two dealers in this part of NC, one was $325, the other $225. Or you can just buy my 2014 RT-S that already has the Corbin heated...

    New to 3 wheels

Long test rydes are in order, and if you're like me, keep a two wheeler or (three or four of 'em) around as they ain't the same thing. Each has it's place.

    RT - Air Pressure?

They leak less if you remove and plug the nails/screws you pick up in them

    Tri-axis (yes, another TA thread)

So I'm assuming my '14 won't sell and ordered a chrome tri-axis kit. If for some crazy reason it sells before the kit gets here next week I'll have a Tri-axis for sale cheap :). Dealer wants $325 - 350 to install. I watched the Finless Bob 3 part video, and still have to ask the group...

    Fun Factor

Too bad you ain't closer to NC, I'd let you try my '14 RT-S and then talk about a swap :). Sure do miss the EGUC.

    Slingshot has me curious!

I'm going to be trying one out (if) Spidey sells. Not going to tease myself since I can't justify having both and market is a little soft around here on used Spidey. Still thinking it's a 3 wheeled car though so unless it 'wow's me I'll be trying to find an older R1100RT.
