• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    New ST Owner Saying Hello

Congrats on your new bike! I bought the same one a couple months ago, even the same color. So far I've added a backrest, fox adjustable shocks, and the bajaron swaybar and helm links. The suspension upgrades have been the most noticeable. Its much more stable than it was stock. I added a phone...

    Take a chance ???

I have experienced both the RS (I think it was a 2009) and the 2013 ST I currently own. The RS was a total hoot, like it was designed to ride aggressively. It felt very stable in the curves and accelerated powerfully. But I wanted a bike for longer trips and the RS had much rougher feeling...

Spongy clutch lever issue on new 2013 Spyder ST

The clutch went spongy on my 2013 ST on the way home from work one night with about 800 miles on the odometer. By the time I got it home the clutch lever was doing nothing at all. I checked the fluid and it was dry, so I called the dealer and a few days later they sent a guy out with a trailer...

    Smart phone mount

It was your design that inspired me to use the handlebar hole Snoopy. I wanted to keep my plastic beauty cap out of the design though, in case I wanted to keep my mount for my next bike after I sold my current ST someday. Thats why I used the fender washers. I also wanted to find a nut that...

    Smart phone mount

If believe I used 1 1/4" wide by 5/16" hole stainless washers for above the hole with a neoprene washer to protect the paint, but you would be wise to check your measurements before going off that as I am going from memory. I had a lot of problems getting a nut inside the hole in the handlebars...

    Smart phone mount

I used the center diamond shaped hole in the handlebars to mount my X mount. Its the hole under that little plastic beauty cap in the center. It was a bit difficult as I needed to find a washer and nut assembly that I could fit through the hole but could be tightened up afterwards. A trip to the...

No more sore butt and only cost $25

I have had a couple of people ask about this cushion and heres a few more details: The brand name is WinPlus and its called the Ultimate Gel Seat Cushion. Its made for office chairs but I had read about people using it for their motorcycle seats on a Harley Davidson forum I also read as I have a...

No more sore butt and only cost $25

So far so good. Only downsides I see is they aren't waterproof so not rain friendly, and they also somewhat interfere with gripping the tank hard with your thighs.

    Looking for an accessorie wire

Yeah its a very convenient source of power. But as for resolving the noise issue I am not sure if it would be any different than straight from the battery. An inline noise filter may be a better solution. I don't get any noise on my devices but all I use is a cell phone and a GPS, both of which...

    Looking for an accessorie wire

I installed a 12 volt cigarette lighter outlet in the left speaker grill of my 2013 ST SM5 and used power from one of the unused switch plugs just forward of the seat. I think it was the one for the heated grips (which I dont have) but not sure, there are 3 unused switch plugs on mine. It does...

No more sore butt and only cost $25

I read that some people were using Costco's memory foam seat cushions on their motorcycle seats to improve comfort, so I thought I'd give it a try on my 2013 Spyder ST. Not a huge investment as they cost $19.99 at Costco (in store only), I figured if it doesn't work on the bike it'll...

    Need help with audio

I bought a Ram mount and X-Grip from Amazon to hold my cell phone and installed a 12 volt cigarette lighter receptacle in the left unused speaker grill to charge my phone. I just listen to music/GPS/streaming radio/phone calls on my helmet bluetooth. Granted the audio quality could be better, my...

    Clunking and whining noises!

I put it back together and reduced the belt tension to 200 pounds and took it for a ride. I am not really hearing the clunking anymore. Sounds like you are right about it making more noise when its jacked up and not on the road. Or there really is a problem and the wind noise and tupperware...

    Clunking and whining noises!

On the first 2 videos the bike was supported by jacking the frame, so I took another with the jack under the rear shock. Still clunks just as loud. The noise is more apparent as I increased the wheel speed in this video quite a bit. I cycle through all gears and give it a little gas in 5th. I...

    Clunking and whining noises!

A week or 2 ago I had my ST in the shop (with about 1000 miles on it) because the clutch went out. The shop said the slave cylinder piston was leaking and they replaced it and a few other parts associated with it under warranty. I did not see any fluid leaks when it went out so when they fixed...

    BAJA RON SWAY BAR WOW!!

I installed Ron's bar on my 2013 ST and love it. The install is not super easy but doable. Getting the front end of the bike high enough was the hardest part and could be dangerous if not done safely. I rode mine up a set of car ramps and then used a floor jack (with a 2X4 on top of it to...

    Turn signal bulbs?

I think it is wrong. From what I have read the 21W is quite a bit larger. Like an average full sized automobile turn signal bulb. Not sure if it would fit in the turn signal housing or if it did would it get too hot near the lens. At the price of them I am unwilling to experiment without more info.

    Turn signal bulbs?

My 2013 Spyder ST SM5 now has about 900 miles on it and blew a rear turn signal bulb. After visiting 4 different auto parts stores unsuccessfully I learned the amber RY10W (Osram 5009) bulb it uses is not very common. I searched online and found one on Ebay for $9. I'd like to get a couple...

    BRP sway bar vs. Bajaron?

I haven't tried Lamont's bar, but I have tried 3 others. Of course the first one was the one my ST came with, a spindly little twig of a bar with the bare minimum requirements for keeping the bike stable. I ordered BajaRons bar and the RSS Fox shocks/sway bar kit (its cheaper to buy the RSS bar...

    my first 600 miles

There are two reasons the dealership would tell you that. One is they are not well versed in the Spyder's maintenance schedule, or they are looking to make a fast chunk of cash. Neither is a good sign about the dealership. Also keep in mind that if someone other than the service manager said you...
