• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Spyder 1 - Bunny 0

We have a lot of suicidal squirrels in the Ozarks. Sometimes they have to jinx three or four times before they manage to get under a wheel. I never swerve when I see one, figuring if they want to kill themselves, who am I to stop them. :yikes:

    Catalytic Converters vs Greenhouse Gases

All of a sudden, folks seem to think that CATs have something to do with greenhouse gases, even though CATs have been around for over 40 years and greenhouse gasses have only been of note outside of certain communities for a decade or so. Those of you who have been around long enough will...

    vee rubber

OK. I don't have a dog in this hunt. But here's my question. WHY would I want a motorcycle tire on my Spyder? It doesn't lean like a motorcycly. In fact, it behaves more like a car than a motorcyle. So, why would I want a motorcycle tire?

My understanding is that these tires got two thumbs down from Lamont and Len.

    Polaris Slingshot

Hell, I have trouble getting into and out of a Ford Fusion. With my lousy knees and hips, I don't think the Slingshot is for me.

Who can tell me about River Valley Power & Sports in Red Wing, MN?

One thing that comes up repeatedly on Spyderlovers is buy your :spyder2: from a dealer who knows how to set them up properly. Presumably, you are traveling from Indiana to Red Wing MN because you're getting a "good" deal. One that is significantly discounted. Trust me when I say this: Dealers...

It's not a big deal. I flip the switch and by the time I get my helmet on, she's ready to start.

The 2015's - My Thoughts on the Negative Reactions

Personally, I really like the F3. If I were buying a :ani29: today, that is probably the one I'd buy. I'd likely go with the Touring Escape package because when my wife is with me, we are usually on day trips. When I go for an overnighter, there's plenty of room on the passenger pillion for a...

    BATTERY FLOAT

I have been disappointed in every purchase I've made from Harbor Freight. Their products always sound good, but don't last very long. When it comes to your battery, there's only one way to go. Battery Tender. A few dollars saved now won't mean much when you have to buy a new battery in the spring.

Yep, I'd get it changed NOW.

To wear a helmet or not

I couldn't agree more. I always rode ATGATT when I was on two wheels. The helmet probably saved my life in the one accident I did have. Instead of a possibly fatal concussion, all I got was a scratched helmet. Today, I rarely ride ATGATT on my :spyder2:, but that's mainly because I ride Ozarks...

    Glad That's Over

Removing the tupperware and the frunk was not that difficult. Getting the damn airbox and resonator out was a witch. Getting the frunk back on by myself was a real challenge. Total time by myself over 3-4 days was about 10 hours. When I bought my air cleaner from JT last fall, there really...

    Glad That's Over

I just finished installing JT's air filter on my RT-S. Of course, the installation itself was child's play. It was getting all the plastic that made up the stock air intake system out that was the majority of the work. Frankly, I'm a little disappointed with the BRP engineers. It IS possible to...

    Low on oil

The biggest difference in motorcycle oils and auto oils is the absence of certain friction reducers in the motorcycle oils. API SM and SN and ILSAC GF-4 and GF-5 oils contain friction reducers that can cause motorcycle clutches to slip and burn up.

Lab Report on Rotella T 15W-40 conventional oil

So, I'm Wondering .... It seems that sometimes we take it for granted that the BRP engineers are idiots and don't know what we know. Take, for instance, their recommendation for oil. Their Summer Blend is a 10W-40 oil. Their engineers cannot help but know that such an oil will shear/dilute down...
