• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Are Straight wound springs going to be better than Progressive rate springs?

Progressive vs standard springs is super controversial in the suspension world, so I'm not sure you can get a definite answer to that question. However, from the photo you posted it appears that half your spring is fully collapsed, which is not right. The static weight of your machine should...

Brake failure message and no fluid from ABS and the rear caliper, any ideas?

Is the brake reservoir completely full? If it's ever so slightly down, it will send a trouble light signal. However, I doubt that's your problem since you've said there is no fluid coming out of the rear caliper. Also, it's not possible to bleed the ABS module without a BUDS hooked up...

    ARtraveler/AKspyder passed away March 2025

Anyone have problems with Tricled Peel & Stick Wide-Vu Mirrors?

I had them on my 2014 and then added them onto my then new 2020, and knock wood, never had an issue with it.

Does the Evap canister pre-filter need to be changed? If so, is it DIY, or take it to a Dealer?

I bought and replaced mine. The job wasn't that bad at all, just the body work removal is a PITA. However, once I got it out and replaced, I discovered the part can be taken apart and cleaned. No need to replace.

What can I do to get a straight shot at the Rear Tire valve Stem?

I would be willing to take an educated guess that the reason the valve stem is on the sprocket side is because some corporate lawyer was worried they would get sued because someone burned themselves on the muffler when doing an air check.

Planning a Pacific Coast Highway trip - looking for suggestions

I'm right off of Hwy 1, so I can give you some more specific info, if you wish. I will say that Hwy 1 is closed between Big Sur and Morro Bay. You can look up "Paul's Slide". It's a massive landslide that made the news several years ago and could be seen from space and hasn't really been...

Any reason I can't leave the Plastic Cover underneath off to check for oil leaks?

On my 08 GS, I removed the under panels due to heat buildup and never had an issue. I would suspect that if you're running through a lot of wet conditions, you might some issues, but otherwise I can see no harm.

Contemplating buying a Spyder - any reliability, power, and buyer's remorse issues?

Grampi: Just an FYI. The mirror shake is a known issue and is easily and cheaply fixed with a kit from Lamonster garage.

Contemplating buying a Spyder - any reliability, power, and buyer's remorse issues?

Another thing you may or may not have read. Coming from 2 wheels, when riding the Spyder most people tend to over ride the Spyder. The Spyder requires little rider input and most people tend to over steer and give the bike more input than is necessary. This causes the bike to feel strange and...

What is the number of hours required to assemble an RT?

I watched a dealer unpack/uncrate and new Spyder and it came almost completely assembled. If you can purchase one delivered to your door in a crate, the rest is easy. Just be aware that the delivery and dealer set up fees are part of the built in profit to the dealer and Can Am, because the...

Another tire thread…but different¿ New Kenda XPS Roadster Tires - more durable...

Yeah, when I bought my 2014 new, the rear tire only lasted about 5k miles. :cus:

Mounting a tire on my Spyder - things I'll verify

.1 Correct. 18-20 psi is fine 2. Valve stem alignment is easy. The spokes of the rim and the pulley line up with each other. 3. Just walk the belt off. There are several how to's on this forum. That's the easiest and fastest way to do it and it ensures proper belt alignment every time...

Another Dealer Drops the Spyder Line

My local multi brand dealer told me years ago that BRP was a huge PITA to deal with and made numerous unreasonable demands. They also said that several other motorcycle manufacturers were similar in their approach to dealer relations. In fact, they were voluntarily discontinuing sales and...

Looking for info/advice from those who have RT Replacement Shocks...

On my 2014 RT I did the Baja Ron sway bar and Elka Stage 2 shocks but left the rear alone. On my current 2020 RTL I have only done the Baja Ron sway bar. I feel the updates Can Am made the front suspension was good and made it handle adequately for a sedate rider (me). On the 2014 I felt...

Share your experiences with Performance shocks for 2023 RT's?

In my previous Spyder (a 2014 RT) I installed Elka's (Stage 2) up front. I thought they were a major upgrade. I did have the leak problem, which was repaired by a local suspension shop. The newer internal replacement parts were clearly improved and never leaked again. So, I would suspect the...

Gulp, I just contracted for a new (old) 2023 RT Limited, now what?

I too would recommend the products sold by Lamonster Garage. He only sells well engineered and good quality products at a fair price, as well as being the site owner.

What lights will work with the Can-bus system? How do I know?

Whenever adding any LED lighting, you have to first make sure it's listed as CANBUS compatible. You can also add a diode onto the wire to equalize the electrical draw. CANBUS systems are pretty complex and sensitive to electrical loads.
