• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

From the secret underground lab of the evil mad scientist....

The RGB lights are still using the controller from SuperbrightLED. I've had those for a couple years. I'm using an arduino pro mini for the sequence controller. I input the RGB signals from the other controller to sync the color of the HL1606 strips with the rest of the lights. The 3 base colors...

    Airbox removal - Ugh!!!

Well, I got home from work at 6:00, and J.T's air filter was waiting for me. I changed out of my "meet the bosses" clothes, and into my "Go out to the garage" clothes. So, I started working on the air filter about 6:10. By 6:45 it was in. So, the condensed version: 5+ hours and elevated...

    Recap of 2014 RT Problems

Perception is reality... That's why these threads are so tough. It's hard to separate the opinions from the facts, and even with the facts, then there are opinions on who should do what... I'll use the tires as an example... First off, I don't know WHO requested the softer compounds for the...

    Radio Antenna

In my case, they either cross threaded, or used threadlocker. Next time I'm back there, I may need to take the block out, and put it in a vice. Luckily, my antenna isn't broken, I was just thinking of replacing it with a shorty.

    Airbox removal - Ugh!!!

    The WTH Factor

Sometime. The worst I've seen was on our trip to Maine. We were ryding on I 84, and a car flew by us in the right lane. We were in the middle. Next thing, they lock up the binders, switch 2 lanes, and back up traffic to get back to us just to take a picture.:banghead::banghead:

    Recap of 2014 RT Problems

I think Bob stated it the best above... There are legit problems with every year Spyder out there, and there are some "characteristics" that can be applied over a wide range of bikes, and those just come with the territory. For the people who are truly wanting to compile facts / issues to help...

Why do I feel ripped off again?

Something fishy... Mine has never had more than a couple miles added by the service department to test things out. If the dealer used mine for a demo without my permission, I'd be livid, to say the least. I'd charge them at least $157.18 rental fee too...;)

    Airbox removal - Ugh!!!

I guess the big drawback is... Now when I take my :spyder2: for service, they have "time standards" for certain things - like removing crap to access the front spark plug. Since that time is no longer required, I'll probably still be charged the standard, instead of the actual time...:banghead:

    Tool Kit

I also found on mine that one of the torx was a size I haven't found on the bike yet. Thus I added my own torx bits to the toolkit.
