• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Non-painted gloss black parts - any tricks or finishes to stop them scratching easily

As I was reassembling SpyderDeb's '23 F3-L after a full body paint, I noticed that the nacelle around the gauge cluster and front speakers, as well as the covers over the rear speaker covers, are not painted. Rather, they are as-molded plastic: ABS/PC in a high-shine, diamond polished mold will...

Trying to Remove the Front Turn Signal Light/Position Light - any hints? Ideas?

I did a search but couldn't find any info. I also searched the manuals available on powersports-diag.com but couldn't find details on this light. I'm trying to strip down the front fender to have it painted. It's a 2023 F3-L SS with the one-piece fender and an LED "position" light, per the...

What's the best way to get Paint Codes for Spyders/Rykers?

SpyderDeb wants to have her Spyder painted. A color she likes was on the after-market panels for a Ryker in a Turquoise color. I say was as they were only available in 2019. She worked with her dealer and found the paint codes to be 313C but the painter doesn't recognize that color. Apparently...

Anyone with '20+ Spyders tried Front Fender Lighting fm ShowChrome & TricLED?

We are in the process of adding a '23 F3-L to the stable. The trade-in is a '18 F3-L that had Custom Dynamics Brightsiders in both the side and rear-facing positions. We have other F3s with ShowChrome and TricLED lighting. SpyderDeb likes the output of the old Custom Dynamics lighting better...

Anyone running or tried BUDS on MacBook (Pro)?

I searched this "BRP BUDS BUDS2 Shop Talk" forum and found one reference but no replies to the subject. My Windows laptop is old and slow. I've got a newer MacBookPro with a port adaptor/extender that has a full size USB "A" slot; it's also my travel computer. I've read that EaseUS, and perhaps...

    Sprocket vs Shaft final drive

A lot of discussion on Smoak's post about belt/sprocket vs shaft as the final drive. I think that discussion deserves its own thread. All drive trains that I can think of that use a shaft as the final drive have the engine mounted such that only one direction change is needed: the engine...

HowTo: Easy method to slide rear tire in RV or on garage floor

Here's another real McGyver on moving the back end of our Spyders around in an RV garage with rubber floor; also works on cement. It's easy to get the front end in place when loading our Spyders in a trailer or RV garage, but then the rear wheel often needs to be moved side-to-side for that...

HowTo: Auxiliary Power Box on an F3-T

This should work on any F3 model. Attached are: photos of the finished installation and the wiring schematic. This is not a step-by-step on running the wires as the project requires the doer to understand electronics and electricity, beyond the scope of the write up. In the end I have a live...

    Spyder and Harley Dealers

After selling my last Harley-Davidson, I'm left with a significant amount of Chrome Cash rewards (from a credit card) which can be redeemed/spent only at a H-D location. My plan was to use them at a dealer in WI that carried both Harley and Can-Am: the owners have, since my last visit in 2017 or...

HowTo: Removing Front Drive Sprocket (that has significant wear)

Out for a ride yesterday and SpyderDeb notice something not right on her 2018 F3-L. I rode it and noticed the “noise” at low speeds. Definitely on the drive side and close to the engine. Tried to view the drive sprocket and took a couple of photos, looking for the “red dust”. A little could be...

Removing Top Panels - A Tool

What do I do on a rainy afternoon? Install new Lamonster Garage LED Headlights in SpyderDeb's F3-L. But I have a strong dislike for removing the top panels - it feels like one is ripping the plastic apart. So I made a simple tool out of a cable tie, the plenum size. Takes a little finesse, but...

    BUDS2 Cluster Updates

Does one need access to BRP's dealer network system to perform the flash updates via BUDS2? Programming keys works fine, but that's only reading local information off the DESS. The BUDS2 showed a mandatory (red lightning bolt) update for the Cluster but when I tried to do the flash, the error...

    Rear brake service - 2015 F3-S

I was changing the rear tire and had to wait on the o-ring between the sprocket and hub. During that wait time, and with the caliper suspended in air, I inadvertently pushed the brake pedal. I cannot get the caliper piston to push back into its bore. I push lightly on the brake pedal and the...

Sport Mode availability/retrofit for prior F3-S models

A Forum search revealed no recent discussion on the topic, just a lot of (heated) opinions. Does anyone know if the Sport Mode can be programmed/flashed/??? into a 2015 F3-S? Not seeking opinions and rhetorical discussions. :roflblack: Just facts and data. Wayne

    OEM Trailer Hitch Parts

SpyderDeb was rear-ended while pulling a Bushtec trailer with her 2018 F3-Limited. Did a number on the trailer but the only damage to the bike was the hitch lifted, bending the lower ears on the brackets that slide over the swing arm. I've checked the BRP Parts section but can't find the hitch...

Advanced Gauge Cluster, BRP Connect, Android Phone, Sena 30K headset, and TAKING PICS

Here's what I've been able to put together to get the above setup to work. There are some nuances in the various software. But essentially, music and GPS output to the Sena 30K headset, no FM or Aux audio out to the headset, the ability to roll out and back into the BRP Connect app to take...

    Front Wheel Bearing Torque Spec

I changed out the front wheel bearing on my F3, actually the hub to get rid of some flange wobble, but in putting it together I can't find the torque spec for the 36mm hub nut in the manual. Anyone have the spec? Wayne

    Arachnid Tire wear progress

Without solicitation or provocation: I installed one of the old generation Arachnid brand rear tires on my F3. At 5500 miles, it is wearing flat across the tread. I'm sure they'll be haters and do betterers, but this is a good tire made for a MC application, at a fair price, readily available...
