• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Torca clamp versus U-Bolt

What is more effective for a slip-on exhaust, a Torca or U-Bolt? If Torca, what size is appropriate for the Spyder ST 2013? Forgive me if it is a dumb question, but I am less than mechanically minded!

Spyder1Attitude Exhaust and Can Am comfort saddle

Glad to post pictures! Got a close up here of the Spyder1Attitude pipe just after installation--a little condensation underneath that was resolved after tightening the clamp a bit more. The other is an up-close image of the new Comfort seat.

Spyder1Attitude Exhaust and Can Am comfort saddle

So after two seasons with my stock 2013 ST, I decided to do some fun modifications. I researched all the different types of exhaust pipes (really liked the Tailgunner Recluse) but ultimately chose the single-pipe Spyder1Attitude 18 in flat black. It was cost-effective and was positioned as a...

It depends on your definition of "hot," or BRP Takes a Page from the Clinton Playbook

Fantastic info Thanks for the information! I really appreciate you providing factual information about this. I hope that others provide facts here too so that we can effect more change with irrefutable evidence. Perhaps I should contact this investigator too? I don't want to hamper any...

It depends on your definition of "hot," or BRP Takes a Page from the Clinton Playbook

And by the way, to add to the data points... This direct quote is from an engineering consultancy website on burn thresholds and human skin--for those of us in love with Fahrenheit, 44 C is 111.2 F: "The necrosis of the epidermal layer starts when the temperature of the epidermal cells reaches...

It depends on your definition of "hot," or BRP Takes a Page from the Clinton Playbook

Thanks for the read-out! Here is my reading this morning after the 22 miles pre-dawn. The IR measurement was taken at the right foot peg and brake pedal. Basically the area where my foot resides during each ride. Is this too hot, or just warmly cozy and comfy for my foot during a brisk...

It depends on your definition of "hot," or BRP Takes a Page from the Clinton Playbook

It depends on your definition of "hot," or BRP Takes a Page from the Clinton Playbook By way of status update, I now find that I have to prove to BRP--via my dealer--that what I am experiencing with purported, alleged, and X-Files-worthy Hot Right Foot Syndrome is something out of the ordinary...

My experience with BRP about heat issue

Why such different experiences? I am wondering why different people seem to be getting different messages from BRP? My customer rep said, very genuinely, that she understood completely why I would want it fixed and that BRP apologies for that. If other people are getting a runaround, is it...

My experience with BRP about heat issue

I wanted to see how much my experience resonates with people here on the boards. Last Thursday evening, I drove 65 miles from my house in Northern Virginia to Gettysburg PA (where I vacation on weekends) so that I could get my Spyder to Hanover PA to the excellent dealership there. I got my ST...

    Anybody have the monoseat cowl?

I only ride solo on my ST and so was wondering whether anybody had this accessory and had an opinion on it. It is pricey (for being one small piece of molded plastic), but I wonder if it makes the Spyder look better in your opinion (yeah, subjective question...)? Any thoughts?

Strong Gas smell in garage after riding - ST limited

My dealer told me the opposite... I don't doubt whatsoever that this might alleviate the situation, as it makes sense to cut in some cooler gas to lessen the overall temperature. Strangely enough, the technician at my dealer--upon me having experienced the exact same thing--recommended not...

    ST 2014 recommended maintainace

I hear you, but... I do understand what you mean. I am in a highly technical field and spend inordinate amounts of time writing up software-related information that obviously people don't read but expect me to explain in person. I think, though, the question might not have been motivated by...

Spongy clutch lever issue on new 2013 Spyder ST

I agree Hi Princeau, I am thinking the same thing. I was supposed to drop it off for its first maintenance (600 miles) but I think now I am going to change the tenor of my message to them when I drop it off (fix it all or I am not picking this thing back up). I guess only two plausible...

Spongy clutch lever issue on new 2013 Spyder ST

So I am totally mechanically disinclined... Chupaca you are a lifesaver! I checked the clutch fluid reservoir--totally bone dry! I filled it with DOT 4 brake fluid and it is back to normal. My bike has only 600 miles on it so I am wondering and worried about why it was empty. Any thoughts...

Spongy clutch lever issue on new 2013 Spyder ST

Thanks Chupaca. I went to the ST section of Spyderpops but did not see anything for the heat issue (saw it for other models). Were you referring to the missing heat shield?

Spongy clutch lever issue on new 2013 Spyder ST

Getting weary of issues with my new 2013 Spyder ST. Figured I would see if anybody has had an issue with the clutch lever getting spongy, making it nearly impossible to shift out of gear? Had to pull my Spyder back into the garage this morning and take my dependable truck into work because I...

New Spyder ST Owner with a few observations

Great support! Really appreciate the thoughtful (and funny) responses! I will say, too, that after riding my Spyder for two weeks, it has me just as thoroughly engaged in the riding process. I went on a roundabout backroad into work, with lots of winds and sharp turns, and I really had to...

New Spyder ST Owner with a few observations

I like everybody's feedback--though I will debate the relative viciousness of Northern Virginia traffic versus Southern... :) I guess I should have added that other than those comments from my relatives (who again, admittedly, can be jerks just for the sake of being jerks), I have only had one...

New Spyder ST Owner with a few observations

Hi all, I have been following the posts on this site for about a month since I decided to purchase a Spyder ST. I picked that up in Hanover PA near my vacation home in Gettysburg, though I live in Northern Virginia. I am really enjoying it, though I share similar adjustment problems that many...
