• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What windshield do you recommend on the RS for freeway driving?

I have the BRP 23" Touring Windshield and the head buffeting is virtually unchanged from the stock version. I plan to try the Madstad brackets. Not sure what the problem is as this windshield is as tall or taller than what I've had on other bikes, but I get more buffeting at 70 then I had on my...

    A little wobble

Just passing on what I learned here. This forum is outstanding.

Best technique for taking corners fast on the spyder?

Thanks NancysToy and Bone crusher Good explanations, I had a little brain fart there and was all bass ackwards (must be residual thinking from that visit to Bizzaro World).

    A little wobble

Not sure what you mean by wobble, but mine seems to want to wander a bit as well particularly when traveling in a straight line on interstate. Others have said to inflate your front tires to 20 lbs. and set your shocks to the highest setting (if you're riding an RS), this has definitely helped...

Best technique for taking corners fast on the spyder?

Sidecar As an addendum to my above post, did you ever see pics of old motorcycle sidecar races? The guy in the sidecar would hang waaaaay over the side when on the outside of a turn to try to hold the wheels down. How are we different?

Best technique for taking corners fast on the spyder?

Physics Question I know it helps to lean to the inside in the corners (comes natural after riding 2-wheelers anyway, I like to brace my outside leg and slide my butt to the inside), but how does this stop the wheel from coming off the ground? It seems that moving more weight to the inside would...

    Spyder's Power.....Can I keep up?

Seasonal riding "I say ride all summer and get a couple thousand miles under your belt before you push any limits ." A little heads up for you, these guys from northern states always say "ride all summer" because for these poor souls, riding is a seasonal activity. They don't realize we have...

    600 Maintenance?

Good point Buttsy "I think there is a "hidden" key in this whole thing. The use of the "Budds" system to perform updates and the such to the system." That's why I went to the dealer for my 600 mile service. I think long term I will do most of the oil changes myself, but will bring it in to the...

    Isle of Man

Awesome Back when Speed Channel used to do two wheel Tuesdays, they did coverage of the Isle of Man TT. I concur, always wanted to run the course.....but not quite like they do.

    Thought I would share this.

Nice .....And the Spyder has a more comfortable rear seat.

2012 RS S Orange or Magnesium???

Another fan of Manual (not Manuel) "I might anger some people here, but I'm more in line with the manual." I concur, but it shouldn't anger anyone, not saying they have to agree. On riding the Spyder, I think you'll pick it up pretty quick. I have to disagree with the advice to read about...

2012 RS S Orange or Magnesium???

Magnesium All three look great, I'd choose the magnesium just because I see more greens and oranges. Also I think the magnesium has a more universal appeal, both green and orange seem to evoke either a love it or .....not so much reaction with people I've talked to. Of course you're the one...

spyders running bad when it's hot out

5 bars all the time....and no not a poker run. When I bought my RS in April, it was in the 70's here and within 10 minutes of riding I was at 5 bars, but never went to 6. Now it's been low 90's and it still goes to 5 bars in 10 minutes but does not go to 6. Yesterday I rode about 120 miles, a...

    Shock adjustment??

Coz 5 is exactly right....I could not believe the difference these simple adjustments made in the handling. To your original question, the lower your setting the softer the ride but you give up some cornering, the higher the setting the harder the ride but the cornering is improved (I don't...

    Info on safety

Having ridden two-wheelers for over 30 years, I have to say there is some great advice in these posts. One thing I don't think has been hammered home enough is to ride at your own pace. Don't try to keep up with those who are more experienced or more skilled or just more careless. On the helmet...

How many beers fit in the frunk?

"*scratching head* How come no one has gone out and bought a case or two for research? I am guessing you can only get Y in the bottles, so I will pick up a couple cases tonight and do some research for everyone!" Yuengling is available in cans but it's harder to find, and I figure cans would...

    stage one weight reduction

Because it's there! "Being a relative MC newb...i have to ask....Why would you want to with a spyder?" I'd want to do it......I probably won't go to lengths necessary to make it possible, but I want to do it!

How many beers fit in the frunk?

"The good news is this, without a frunkliner (I dont have one myself), you can basically turn your frunk into a small rolling icebox / cooler / minibar." Hmmmm, no actual estimate here, but none the less I :clap:the innovative thinking!

How many beers fit in the frunk?

"My guess would be 62, with a little ice to keep it cold." Now here's a man who thinks positively!

How many beers fit in the frunk?

Too bad that you can't get somebody to come along with an RT so that a Beer wagon comparison could be made... The RTs greater capacity and the ability to spread the weight more evenly; Isn't that alone a good reason to favor it over the poor RS/GS and their limited capacity for "hydraulic...
