• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Spyder Pin Program

That's the (sniff, sniff) nicest thing any one has said (sniff, sniff) to me since December 2010 when my dear wife (sniff, sniff) asked me if I'd like to buy a Spyder. You're the best, Bob. :firstplace:

    Spyder Pin Program

You should know that Spyder owners in the UK get none of BRP's little perks and freebies available to you guys in the USA. No pins, no patches, etc. And we are yet to see a BRP-sponsored event of any kind in the UK, they don't even show up at the our annual Motorcycle Show. There is no Spyder TV...

    Another power steering question.

You don't get the same level of steering assistance as you'd expect from the average car. I can whizz the steering wheel in my Honda Civic left and right easily with one hand. I'm reasonably strong in the shoulders and arms but I find I have to put real effort into both bars to turn the wheels...

    Air leak?

The only time I have heard my ACS hissing air is after a ride when my missus gets off and I am putting my RT in the garage. It makes a hissssss every few seconds until it has adjusted for the lesser weight. I have never heard it adjust for inclines or declines but that doesn't mean it doesn't do...

    A Part Missing?

It would be doing a new Spyder owner a service if the dealership pointed out that nothing is missing from the empty space on the RHS. I was caught out thinking I had lost the grill riding my new machine home from the dealership.

Jay Leno tests the Morgan 3-wheeler

Funny you should mention that, I was thinking how incredibly butch the Honda V-Tec looked under the hood of my new Civic and it crossed my mind as I checked its oil what a pretty coffee table it would make with a glass top. Alice wouldn't stand for it, though, she doesn't see engineering as an...

Jay Leno tests the Morgan 3-wheeler

You can buy one new for £30,000 Sterling, (latterly British colonial money but don't let's get into that, I'm having a nice day), which at about $1.5 to the Pound is $45,000, or about 2 Spyder RT's worth and change. It would be scary to know what the Morgan cost in 1910.

Jay Leno tests the Morgan 3-wheeler

I think it's because it's an air-cooled engine and it will get all the air it needs out front. If I'm wrong there will undoubtedly be several people along directly to tell me so. It's why I love this forum. :firstplace: :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Jay Leno tests the Morgan 3-wheeler

OK, you sit in it and not on it but it's still a reverse trike and it has a 2-litre S&S (Harley) engine but little else. Like no ABS, no power steering, no nanny to limp your ride home, etc, etc.. Just British eccentricity, circa 1910.

Possible reason for RT windshield support cracks

You're right, they would get pestered to death! Actually, I would love to meet a BRP rep myself, I have about a week's worth of questions saved up - longer than that if he insisted on taking sleep breaks! :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack:

    Another leaning Trike

While we're talking alternatives, here's one a little bit different. Same principle as the Segway, but cuter!

Possible reason for RT windshield support cracks

Thanks for that, Bob. I've thought for some time that this an excellent place for BRP to get first hand Spyder feedback. (Properly sifted, of course!) ;)

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

Since fitting a Stebel Air Horn I have been known to call my RT "Horatio" (Hornblower).

Possible reason for RT windshield support cracks

Fine sentiments well stated. In the absence of any word on the subject from BRP, Spyder owners only have this forum to try to figure out between themselves answers to problems when things go wrong. Whilst I agree with you that "guessing accomplishes nothing" it at least has the advantage of...

Possible reason for RT windshield support cracks

The screen, the screen frame, the raising and lowering arm when added together are heavy. At the screen's lowest setting the support arm rests against a two-pronged anvil. Vibration and screen flutter causes the support arm to be "struck" against the anvil hundreds of times a minute according to...

    WHAT WOULD YOU DO ???

Raising the center log and packing it to bring it level with the deck is a possibility, except you'll need leverage to lift it. The log looks as tho it's been put there especially for three wheelers, maybe as an afterthought. I hope you're going to tell us how you managed to get across...

    Favorite Riding Type - Poll

For pleasure riding I knock out a route in Garmin's MapSource to wherever we want to go, taking care to stick to the scenic back roads where this is possible. The economic recession has meant that money for pot hole repairs and resurfacing work has been squeezed and some UK roads are badly...

It's been five years and the Spyder is still here.

There have been rumors to that effect in the UK for some time. The story goes that (nameless) manufacturers have seen the sales success of the Spyders and are keen to jump into the reverse trike market. Don't hold your breath! ;)
