• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Hard nut to crack

Oh, okay. I just have to release the front plaque and it will come off. Cool.

    Hard nut to crack

Oh goodness, what a pain! Dropping the frunk? Maybe I should get used to that as a lot of modifications require it. Anyone got a pic of the inside of the "cougar head"? I'm tempted to say something about cougar-head but.. this forum sure turned South.

    Hard nut to crack

Anyone know how to get inside the upper-pod of the RS-S carefully? Thought about putting small rare-earth-magnet speakers where the "vents" are at. Seems a logical place, no?

    Good Deal or Not?

Pretty good deal. Counter with $9000, then meet dealer half-way(ish) with $9700 saying you'll "meet him in the middle". Go for it. Your lack of motorcycle experience will actually be beneficial. Took me a month to go from a Honda Superhawk and 600RR to an RS-S. That whole high-side feeling...

    Hybrid?

It's been 5 years and I haven't seen the Hybrid Spyder RS released yet. It's supposed to have 20 miles electric range, supposedly. Still getting dusty on their web-page. Anyone ever get a prototype?

Brake fluid leak rear? 2013 RS-S

    FIXED! Turned upright! Done!

Brake fluid leak rear? 2013 RS-S

Ah! There was a bit of fluid there. That reservoir is quite pesky. The sensor indicates LOW and BRAKE FAILURE in the winter because of the fluid compressing ever-so-slightly! I'll re-position and try to find the hole. Easy. THANKS GUYS!

Brake fluid leak rear? 2013 RS-S

Noiced this after a hot ride (about 90 deg. for an hour). Seems like brake fluid. Is this a normal overflow? Seems about a tablespoon or so. Wasn't hot or anything. Reservoir looked fine. Have not received a "brake failure" warning message (though I had one in the winter and added...

Newbie - Is there a way to just go to N without the parking brake?

Yes, the RS models have a left-foot-activated parking brake like a car might. It's a mechanical brake that works fine. I usually go about 3 clicks myself. To un-engage, push down on it until it releases with the left foot. The brake will not wear-out when parked, so have no fear...

    Voodoo Exhaust

There might be a different power-delivery torque curve, perhaps peaking at low or higher revs, but the odds are you're getting an audio-boost only. Often you lose mid-range with an additional exhaust (around 5-6krpm). This is well-known in the motorcycle community.

    Factory Two-Tone Paint?

    2013 models Most 2013 models were 2-tone for the RS-S. http://hooniverse.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/canam-04.png http://images.motorcycle-usa.com/PhotoGallerys/13-Can-Am-Spyder-RS-S.jpg http://images.motorcycle-usa.com/PhotoGallerys/xlarge/2013-Spyder-RS-S.jpg

    2014 RS list price

My wife's RT-S had her first $297 600-mile service and it's just an oil and filter change. Should cost $29 with Mobil 1 synthetic if I do it myself plus the 2 filters for the SE5. They did nothing else, not even a tire pressure fill. Took 5 hours. I bet I can do it in 15 minutes. Rip-off...

    ST seat on an RS?

Yeah, I did that before and the metal clip went .. PRIIIIIINGGGG into outer-space and landed about 20 feet away in my garage. I fear the Metal Clip of Hate (tm) though I'll try to just sort of loosen it. Once it's out of the two indents on the plastic surround it really really doesn't want to...

    Rear wheel

Odd the bolt-pattern didn't line-up. Faulty wheel during drilling? Get a replacement, though honestly it might actually improve stability with the weights staggered evenly like that. Take it back and fuss.

    ST seat on an RS?

I have one on-order (ST Limited). Installed the "Comfort Seat" and wasn't impressed. Too.. puffy. Says it's leather, I'm not sure about that though. Anyway, mine's for sale for a reasonable offer once I get it off. Hardware not included, of course, as that's part of the "fun" of Can-Am seat...

Recommended synthetic oil brand/weight for hot states?

Wondering if Molybdenum is required for clutch operation on an SE5? One could use Mobil-1 MX4T 10-40 if that's the case. My Honda bikes don't want Moly according to the manual. If not, Mobil-1 10W-40 is $4.99 a quart at WalMart and is as good as Amsoil as one of the few last remaining true...

    Optimistic ambient temperature

Having the warranty cover the lost striker-plate on the right-side helped calibrate readings a bit more. Now I'm seemingly about +5 degrees F. for the most part, though over hot pavement, not moving, it tends to wander upwards another 5. I'm still under 600 miles so the engine is probably...

    RS windscreens

Badgershield I went through a couple for my RS-S. I'm using the "Badgershield" right now, which offers a second, flip-up portion that you have to screw-in and tucks when not in use. It's wider and higher than OEM but not as silly looking as the "touring BRP" one. Changing out to the...

    2013 RSS Windsheild

I went through a couple for my RS-S. I'm using the "Badgershield" right now, which offers a second, flip-up portion that you have to screw-in and tucks when not in use. It's wider and higher than OEM but not as silly looking as the "touring BRP" one. Changing out to the higher-option it comes...

    ST seat on an RS?

Looking at the 2013 and 2014 ST-S models, it seems they might actually fit on the RS-S 2013. They have the same shape when measured. Does anyone think these might fit as a replacement? I have the comfort-seat (OEM) and it's.. meh.. The ST seat is superior.
