• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    HD takes notice

I don't think Harley is to concerned about Spyders and Slingshots. Sure there is a small share of the heavyweight market going to trikes, and they certainly would like their share of the pie. Harley sold 100,000 motorcycles in the last quarter, BRP just recently reached that milestone in total...

    1st Night Ride

I have no scientific evidence to prove this, but here in Minnesota you are way more likely to see a deer on the road after dark than during the daylight hours. I do agree they are most active at dusk and dawn .

    Changing the rear tire.

If you have even some basic mechanical skills you'll have no trouble. I removed the rear wheel and just took it to a tire shop. The new Kumo tire was $79.00 and $25.00 to mount and spin balance. I use a Krikit gauge to adjust the tension on the belt. As far as alignment goes, the belt just...

    Too Good to be True?

Seems your great local dealer is way over priced. Over the years I've noticed a huge difference in actual retail prices posted on here. It does seem BRP and dealers are giving big discounts a little earlier this year to clear out inventory, makes me wonder if BRP has some big changes planned...

    Definition of Brand New

If he's not man enough to respond to your PM after a reasonable amount of time, let us know who we need to watch out for on here if he has more "brand new" items for sale on Spyderlovers.

Wow, such sad sad news. My thoughts and prayers to Paula and the family.

    Price of Oil Change Kit

I first thought it seemed a bit high too, but they are going for about that on ebay too.

Anyone left a Roadsmith for a Spyder RT?

I have a friend who has a Goldwing Roadsmith. I'm not sure if they all have independent rear suspension, but his does. We have both ridden each others trikes. He wouldn't trade for a Spyder but I wouldn't trade for his Goldwing either. I would say the plushness of the ride is pretty equal with...

NEW REAR TIRE AFTER ONLY 8002 MILES!

$88.00 to mount and balance when you already had it off the machine?:yikes:

    New to me 2010 RTS

My guess is the steering on your spyder is fine. Give yourself a little more time and I bet the play in the steering will disappear.

    Am I being ripped off?

This labor sounds about right if you had all these things done one item at a time. Looks to me like you payed to have the tire and wheel removed three times when they only did so once.

Wow, $1300 for a belt and sprocket?

    Dealer issues

Every business has a manager or owner, and every company is going to have new inexperienced employees from time to time. Tell this gentleman you feel you have a problem. If he can't solve your problem ask to talk to his supervisor, manager or owner. Now if after speaking to the higher up...

I'm assuming you must have the safety card memorized or how will you be able to read it with this device installed?

    Airhawk R question

I don't really think the Air Hawk will help with the being cramped feeling. It does raise you up ever so slightly when it's filled properly. If it's over inflated it does give you a weird sensation like you are moving around a little on the seat. Air Hawks aren't cheap either if you end up not...

    Cal-sci Windshield v. F4 Customs Winshield

I'm the same height as you as also use an air hawk on longer rides. I agree with everything you said concerning the stock windshield. I installed a Cal-Sci XL and am very happy with it. It pretty much eliminates all the buffeting. I usually ride with it somewhere in the middle position, with the...

Manual transmission vs. semi automatic transmission

I was sure I wanted a manual shift until I drove the semi-auto. Yeah it's a little more money but now I'd not even consider buying a manual. I'm sure the manual shift is less prone to problems and you don't need to use the parking break if you so choose. I've never had any trouble with my...

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with this antispyware removal download. But I'd be damn leary to download that and let it run on my computer.

    Tires and Cold Concrete Floors

I wouldn't worry about the tires being on concrete. I know many disagree with starting an engine periodically. I've done it all my life with motorcycles , snowmobiles, cars, lawnmowers, snow blowers, about anything that has an engine.. I don't go starting it when it's -20 or anything, but if...

I'm at my breaking point with gas fumes from my 2012 RT-S :(

I assume you are being careful not to overfill the gas tank? I've not heard that 2012 RT's are "prone" to fire.
