• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Actually, I have a 2010 RTS in orbital blue.

    2014 RT

A little longer riding season in Vegas I'd imagine.

    2014 RT

Sweet! Not sure I'm crazy about the new "Cognac" color though. I think I'd have to see it up close and personal first, although I do kind like the carbon fiber wheels with the black satin trim. Hard to tell from the pics, but I think the rear wheel assembly is also black.

    2014 RT

So, does an RTS manual include the 6 speed trans then?

    2014 RT

Just a couple of dumb questions, as I've not been able to determine this from the limited info out on the 2014 RT. First, do all of the RT models include the adjustable handlebars? Second, am I correct when I say that the RT Limited model is only available in an automatic trans? Also, why do...

    Brake Failure

Well after a week in the shop, the dealer called me yesterday to tell me that (after talking to BRP) they believe the problem was the caliper piston(s) was "sticking". Which then caused the soft or spongy braking. BRP told the dealer that they have seen this issue on other Spyders. I'm not...

    Brake Failure

I don't know what the fault code is, the dealer has it right now. They had suggested having the district rep from BRP look at it as this is a bit odd. Based on what has happened each time, I don't think it has anything to do with the parking brake. As I stated, you go to brake, step on the...

    Brake Failure

It is the parking brake engaged indicator that stays on, and yes, the brake fluid is up and was changed last spring. Incidentally, the parking break still functions normally after this happens, but even after shutting the Spyder off and letting it sit it holds the code as previously described...

    Brake Failure

Ok, so this has happened now 3 times since last fall. I go to stop, push down on the brake pedal, and suddenly the brake is very "spongy" almost like there is no resistance. I take my foot off of the brake, and it's like the system resets, as there is normal resistance and braking after the...

    Blew a rear shock

Very interesting, I had to have the rear shock replaced this spring (@12k miles). Of course, BRP didn't pick up the cost and the dealer never said anything to me about a service bulletin regarding proper callibration.

    Manual Computer Reset

This seems to be an issue for a lot of owners. Doing a search for "brake faiure" resulted in numerous posts by other owners. I can't explain why I started having brake issues after having all the wheels pulled and chromed, but I did. It only seems to be a momentary thing too. All of a sudden...

    Manual Computer Reset

As I said, I had all the wheels pulled off and chromed, this included the rear wheel, sprocket and hub. This involved quite a bit of dissassembly, which is how the problem was created. As I've read here before, bleeding the brakes on the Spyder can be a pain. Others have noted that they have...

    Manual Computer Reset

No nanny, no limp mode, no issues riding or braking. It was a momentary thing. It did this same thing late last fall, I had all the wheels pulled off to have them chromed last spring. The dealer told me it was just air in the lines and bled the brakes. I've put over 1800 miles on it since...

    Manual Computer Reset

I seem to recall someone saying there was a way to manually reset the computer to clear an error message on the display, but I don't remember the steps or sequence. Does someone know/remember or am I off here (more than normal)? While riding this weekend I pulled into a gas station to top off...

    Spyderfest 2013 Turnout

I've been asked a number of times since returning home, how many Spyder owners showed up for the rally. So, does anyone know what the total was? :dontknow:

    Bumpskid....is it needed?

I was riding down to Maggie Valley from Chicago when I crossed into Tennessee, suddenly traffic slowed down and began to bunch up. I suddenly realized why, an 18 wheeler had shredded a retread and spit it all over the road. Without anytime to react, I hit a large piece of retread laying cross...

    I Pod not Charging

While in Maggie Valley last week, my I-Pod suddenly stopped working. It didn't take long to determine that for some reason it was not charging when plugged into the auxiliary jack/cord in the trunk. After purchasing a spare charging cord at Wally World, and plugging it into the 12v jack and...

    Thank you CanAm!

A cautionary tale for sure, one of my biggest fears is being rear ended. I always try to leave a gap between me and the vehicle stopped ahead of me to give myself some maneuvering room, I'm always wathching me 6 when stopping at a light of such. Glad you are ok, hope the Spyder is salvageable.

    Maggie Valley 2013

This was my second time to Maggie Valley. Firstly, except for Thursday's rain, the weather this trip was beautiful. For all you folks who live in the Smokey Mountains, all I can say is you live in a beautiful part of the country. I did not spend much time at the fair grounds as I felt after...
