• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    I'm back!

I have had a good day. It is always a good day when you learn something. The gasket that was replaced this time was the one at the other end of the Y pipe, so the top two are still functioning after 5000km. :opps: The thing that interested me was that this could cause the same symptoms as (at...

    I'm back!

Hi Martin. Yeah, I saw them on the US side of this list, and another T-shaped one on the Ulysses page (I think). Something has to be done, given the Australia premium on the price of the belts, and the number of gravel roads here. Let us know when you get them in what you want for them...

    I'm back!

I'm getting to quite like talking to myself. It's like being at home. :roflblack: The halo slipped gradually. The blipper has failed again, not consistently, but too often. And, with only 5000km on them, the Y pipe gaskets failed and the misfire returned. :gaah: I have found a couple of...

    seats

I have the medium touring seat on my :spyder2:. I actually bought it for my Kawasaki GTR (you would call it a Concours). It fits ok and is quite comfortable once I got the pressure right. Mine is a couple of years old now and I have to top up the air, just a breath, every six weeks or so. I...

    Flippin' Blipper!

Anybody...? I'll take that as a no. Fair enough, it isn't the kind of thing that normal people would do.;) From careful reading of the shop manual, I think that the signal is a negative going pulse, pulling the bottom of the blipper solenoid to ground. I got a call today to say that they...

    Rattling drving me crazy

That is the nut for the rear screw of the seven that support the inner guard. I have the Givi bags fitted to my :spyder2:, and that nut is used to support the rack as well as the guard. It is a pain to get the screw to start, so it might have been tossed away when your :spyder2: was...

    500cc Spyder

The first time this happened, the mechanic commented on the noise of the exhaust (I thought that it was just getting a nice burble), and so went looking for an exhaust leak. The next time was right after the rebuild, and I assumed that the gaskets had been damaged. I had bought some Honda...

    500cc Spyder

Thanks Ken. I was going to order a couple of sets from you to get me going after the warranty ends in November. PM me when you get back, and I'll get you to make up a pack with some oil change bits as well. Yeah, 5000km is a bit short for an item that has a 20000km service interval, but there...

    500cc Spyder

:yikes: Thanks for the cheery thoughts. ;) I'm sorry to hear that you are in back-order limbo. I hope that they come good soon (especially if I need one too).

    500cc Spyder

Hi all. My Spyder has started it's running on one cylinder trick again. Last time it did this, we replaced the 'Y' pipe gaskets (with Honda ones, thanks Ken), and the problem went away. The Honda ones were presumably junked with a few hundred km on them after the motor seized before Christmas...

    tranny problems 2009 SE5

That sounds similar to a problem I had a few weeks back. I could hear the transmission hunting then it finally clicked in. My dealer found a string of missed shifts in the codes, and replaced the gear position sensor and the shift solenoid. No problem since. Now if only it would blip the...

    Flippin' Blipper!

Lately I've noticed that my Spyder (2008 SE) doesn't blip the throttle on downchange as it used to.:( I had the dealer check it at the 20000km service, and he changed the solenoid. It seemed ok for a while, but is now not doing its job most of the time. I have tried the power up test...

    Rear Fender Support Brackets

What next? I noticed last week that the brackets on my '08 are cracked again. The first set were replaced at 15000km, these will be at 25000. After that I'll be out of warranty. This is going to become an issue. The brackets have a faulty design, it should have been rectified by now. Has...

    Removing the tail light

Thanks mate! Docdoru, that's brilliant! :2thumbs: Thank you very much. Now that I know where to look, I'll be able to pull the tail lights and fit some LED globes. Cheers; Pogo.

    Removing the tail light

I'm fitting a towbar to my GS and adding an isolator for the trailer lights (pics soon). While I was under the seat on the weekend, I thought I'd have a look at pulling the tail light off (because of the limp mode stupidity). I read the manual, and managed to find the screw behind the tail...

    Rear Tire Replacement

Crikey! I was very pleased to get 20000km out of mine. I usually get 12000 to 15000 on the back of my sidecar (Khumo 165/60-15). I fitted a Toyo Proxes F4 220/50 R15 and once I got the pressure right (35psi for me), it was a good tyre. It has plenty of grip and is not noisy. I'm just getting...

    penske shocks sent back in

Interesting comment, SethO. When I replaced the rear shock on my Spyder with an Ikon, Geoff suggested that I should replace the fronts, and said that they had a pair ready if I wanted them. I declined for lack of money (a common ailment). Lately I have had the front pre-load jacked up to max...

    Front Sprocket BRP Bulletin

Musta missed something. Thanks all for this thread and the effort put into getting the right info. :2thumbs: I must have missed this while I was travelling. I'll check the sprocket tension and lower the belt tension (still at about 900N), on the weekend. Cheers; Pogo.

    I'm back!

Well there was a short delay while parts came in, but Lola is back home with a new blipper solenoid, new shift solenoids and new Y pipe gaskets. She doesn't backfire on overrun, and the throttle blips when I downshift. It will take a long run to see if she is shifting properly, but I'm hopeful...
