• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

buell - engine for the new RT ??

longlegs, We live over by Spring Lake, exactly 3 miles from the Mahomet Super Pantry. We should get together sometime. I assume you have a Spyder? I've heard of sightings of a black one and a pink one in the Champaign/Mahomet area....

buell - engine for the new RT ??

If I go to an RT from this... ...I'll be giving up 255hp and 320lbft of torque! :yikes: However, I also ride this.... ...which is "only" 110hp and weighs about 850lbs dry. It moves quite quickly (not as fast as the Boss, obviously!) and it's only slightly lighter than the RT. I...

    Saw RT in person today!

I'm thinkin' you need to keep that gal!! :ohyea: I just watched Ken Miller's video regarding the windshield, seat and riding position. He had good things to say about the seat! Don't quote me on the memory foam comment...it kinda felt like it, but I can't say for sure. It's also...

    Saw RT in person today!

Scotty, We know the guinea pig syndrome well...the first year we owned the Boss there were a number of issues fixed or upgraded (most under warranty) that eventually made it into production. The bad part is that our 2002 trike was not the first model year for Boss Hoss trikes so you would think...

    Saw RT in person today!

I suppose the battery could simply have been disconnected, but there were other odd things too... No LED accent lights No front trunk light No fog light switch No front 12V socket Missing those things while everything else seemed to be RT-S spec suggests this was an early prototype used for...

    Saw RT in person today!

Lithgow Motorsports in Hoopeston, IL had a RT prototype today for a couple hours. Cheryl and I took a run over to check it out and met Spyder owner Jim from Neuman, IL too. Phil from Lithgow and Sonny from BRP took the time to answer all of our questions. Thanks guys! Unfortunately this...

    The wife surprised me today...

OK...get yer minds outa the gutter!!! :lecturef_smilie: And no...she didn't order me a new Spyder! However...we were discussing the RT...she asked how much they cost...I mentioned selling the Boss Hoss trike to fund the purchase (assuming we decide to order one)...she suggested...

    Talked to two dealers today...

...got my name on list to call as soon as demo RT arrives!! :ohyea: Sounds like there is a lot of interest according to one of the dealers who took time to chat on the phone. The other guy just took my name. Both dealers are within one hour ride.

    Trike comparisons

Scotty, Thanks. Enjoyed your analysis as well! I've been intrigued by 3-wheelers for a long time and test-rode just about all of the modern conversions before we bought the Boss. Some fellow (2-wheel) riders don't seem to understand why I bought a trike when I have no physical impairment that...

    Trike comparisons

While I'm still anxiously awaiting a test ride and reading everything I can about Spyders and staring at RT-S pictures (yes, I have the RT flu....), I was musing about some of my trike experiences and how I would corrolate them to the RT. So, here is my completely personal, unbiased, humble...

    RT voltmeter and oli pressure

That's what I thought. Thanks for the confirmation. I can't wait to test ride an RT. The more I research it, the more I like it! Know anyone that wants a used Boss Hoss trike? ;)

    RT voltmeter and oli pressure

Lamont, Does the RT have a voltmeter and oil pressure monitor in the digital display? Or would gauges need to be added for volt and oil?

    New Spyder enthusiast

Thanks for the welcome guys! :) Lamont, I figured you would recognize my login... The Valk is a keeper.... The Boss will have to go if we decide we like the RT.... We like the Boss, but can't afford to keep all the toys if we want a new one, so it remains to be seen if we like the RT...

    New Spyder enthusiast

Hey Lamont! Seems like I've been following you from bike forum to bike forum! First it was the Valkyrie (still have my '97), then Boss Hoss (still have the trike too!), now the Spyder RT has caught my interest... I hope to be able to find one at a nearby dealer so I can check it...
