• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Riser Question ( For those who have installed risers on their RS )

Risers are the #1 mod for the GS/RS in my opinion. They improve not only the seating/riding position, the handling is also improved by the change in position.

30k mile first valve clearance check

I've been getting a slight "pop" in my exhaust lately @ 3000 RPM under a slight load and decided since I have over 30,000 miles on the bike and haven't yet checked the valve clearance I would start the diagnosis by trying to rule them out. So I got my valves checked today @ Progressive...

A funny thing happened on our way home last night...

Hi DocRags, we meet at Whiteface while I was unhooking my trailer (what a great ride and interesting summit!). When I got my :spyder2: in '08 I had several experiences like this with the stock lighting. Cars I came up behind at night would pull over and let me pass. I finally changed the fender...

    Weird vibration at speed

On the ryde to to the Homecoming event at the Spyder factory in June of '08 I discovered a vibration just like yours. It came on about 73mph and 5000 rpm. During the factory tour, I spoke with one of the technicians on the assembly line about this. He responded that this was normal. He further...

    Star Brite

I use an eyedropper. With the Diesel concentrate it works out to one eyedropper per gallon.

    Star Brite

I've been using the additive since I first saw Majic Mans recommendation here on the forum. Prior to using it I would get between 25 to 30 mpg, depending weather I was solo w/o trailer or dual w/ trailer. Since using the stuff my mpg has not been under 30.5 w/ trailer 2 up and I even got one...

    Bum signal lights

It is possible to "pop the numbers in there". They need to to have both the new and the old dash available for BUDS and there is a very specific procedure that must be followed to accomplish this. But it CAN be done.

Why are there wires in the seat?

After some experimenting, I decided that the passenger seat switch affects not only the abs but also and more importantly changes the way the nanny reacts to yaw (body roll). When the switch is depressed the computer becomes LESS sensitive to the amount of yaw (body roll). Altonk's above...

    Avoiding obstacles

http://www.flickr.com/photos/27729988@N02/5721722425/in/photostream My experience has been that you don't even notice the trailer. If anything, it may actually stabilize the :spyder2: a bit in emergency or abrupt maneuvers.
