• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Planning for Red Rocks and Hill Country

Hi Patti, there's a group of us coming up from Phoenix for the Rally, it'll be fun to see you again and relive our Alaska adventure. If you need a place to stay in the Phoenix area, let me know, we have a spare room. Sorry, no camping.

Trailer hitch to pull my bushtec trailer

You can buy the heim connector from Bushtec and use the approved hitch from BRP. You will also need to convert the flat 4 electrical connection to a square 4.

    Rough idle

On my '13, my battery was coming to the end of its useful life and when I put in a new unit, the idle settled down.

Is it OK to Air up tires from the valve under the seat on an RT-S?

The volume of air in the shock would have little effect on a tire.

    Parking brake issue

    Have you checked the fuse?

    I need brake pads

Don't forget to apply anti-squeal to the back of the brake pad prior to reassembly. I have a 2013 with Brembo brakes and did not have to remove the calipers, just remove the locking pins.

Things you might not know, please add to this list. (RT Series)

When parking turn the wheels to full lock in either direction and turn turn the key full left, this will lock the glove box.

    Radio stuck in aux

Have you tried disconnecting the battery? It may reset the system provided you're not looking at a switch problem.

I have the identical 26 RR model and can load my RT-S either forward or backward. I just used the existing hold downs and tied though the wheels.

    Utah/Arizona RT 89A

You may want to check out Route 66 after leaving the south rim into Oatman, AZ. It's a great road, full of historic sites and picturesque.

Ken, I'd be be happy to check them for you on the next Meetup ryde.

    Front brake pads need replacing

Not too sure about the instructions in post #6, as I have yet to see an RT-S with fork legs and a center stand. Removing the wheels makes life a lot easier and the pistons need to be pushed back into their bores once the old pads are removed. Be very careful to check brake fluid level when you...

    1962 was a while back....

Patti, Can we just leave it as "I was a little confused"?

    1962 was a while back....

Bob, The video is a pretty good report on what happened in Clacton and other beachside towns in those days. The telling moment is the young man saying that the root cause was boredom. Boredom has fueled so many teenage revolutions over the generations, especially in Britain, and it's reflected...

    1962 was a while back....

I can relate. I started as a rocker in the 60's in London on a BSA 250, but all my mates were mods on scooters so a change was in order. Enter a fully chromed Lambretta TV 175, not as many lights and mirrors as the previous example, but decked out with front and rear racks and me in my official...

    International Motorcycle Show-Phoenix

There was no BRP presence at the show, the Spyders were on the RideNow stand. All in all it was a disappointing show and according to my contacts there, it was poorly attended.

Couple of questions re: multi-day trips and belt guards. Thoughts please!

Keep your daily mileage goals at a reasonable level. 300-350 is comfortable, as you're going to get beaten up on a bike far more than in a car. Stop early, smell the roses, have a nice dinner and leave some time along the road to explore and make friends.

    Ultimate vs Corbin

I've had 3 Ultimate seats on various Valkyries, a Corbin on a VFR and now have an Ultimate on my 2013 RT-S. I found the Corbin to be overly hard and the Ultimates, firm but supportive. The Ultimates also took time, around 500 miles, to conform to my butt shape and were the reason we could...
