• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can we talk about tire pressure

Consumer reports did a study on this years back and found a 2.2 avg pressure loss in Nitro tires vs 3.5 for air (they didn't specify duration but the study lasted a year on 62 tires). Also the nitrogen is not 100%, 93% is considered "pure" in the industry. That's only a 15% diff. Another issue...

    Rear Air Suspension for RT

You can also add onboard air like they have in RVs. http://www.spydertalk.com/forums/topic/14621-adding-on-board-air-compressor/

    muffler r77

I agree.:agree:..We all like to modify our rides but as far as bang for the buck muffler swaps don't really cut it on Spyders--just way too expensive for wishful performance gains and to make more (better?) noise. At least in the muscle car days you could buy a thrush glass pack for the price of...

    Startron & ethanol fuel

Read through this thread and I'm seeing that all additives are snake oil BUT all gas has additives. Anyway, just got back from a bike ride and saw this on the road just a block from the house. Now if I could only figure out how to get his oil into the gas.:dontknow:

Has anyone wondered if? Just putting it out there

NaaaH!! Just make sure you have your tin foil hat on while typing:joke: Seriously, there have been some egregious statements made by some with warranty work still done in the end--I wouldn't worry about it. Also, by law, it's difficult for a manufacturer to deny warranty claims unless they can...

Akrapovic RT Exhaust - Dyno & Cat Removal Questions

Good point---I failed to mention that I installed a K&N air filter before the cat removal. As Bob said, BUDS is the dealer computer from BRP used to do ECM updates and diagnostics.

Akrapovic RT Exhaust - Dyno & Cat Removal Questions

Just an FYI on a couple of issues I've seen raised on this thread. Yes, you can remove the "CAT" on an RT which makes it less of a "DOG":)..When I removed mine, I left the stock muffler on and it was only about 2 decibels louder. It also ran well although I did get a little surging at mid level...

    Laser Alignment Question

I'm getting one done on Thursday at Central Florida Powersports in Kissimmee. Do I need to be sitting on the Spyder when this is done?? Seems to me that the geometry would change with weight.

Elka shocks for 2012 Spyder RT?

I agree with Bob...Try the sway bar first. I'd also add the shock extenders and it would still be cheaper than the Elkas as well as do more for your ride. After that, crank your stock shocks to 5 and see what it's like. I've got all 3 on my 12 RT and I like the Elkas, it's just that they were...

Elka Shocks and Relocators - That Floating Feeling

I believe it is such a low volume system that simply checking the air causes a loss of a few pounds each time.

    Elios Motorcycle

They can't, as much as I would love to see something like this actually hit the road at predicted cost it's probably just another fantasy by a potential producer with a less than sharp pencil (or a shyster/dreamer looking to collect deposits for a fantasy R&D). I hate to be cynical BUT I've seen...

    The Heat Final Solution...

The RT gaskets are not prone to leakage. On the older RS models it was an issue and you could go to a premium honda gasket. Get up under there with it running and feel around (without touching) the exhaust flange. If it's leaking you both feel and hear it. Wrapping the exhaust pipes is a...

    87 Octane fuel

Good math...Amen +1:pray: When gas was 50 cents a gallon, it was about a dime more to get premium, a 20% difference. Now it's like 6 or 7%. Not worth considering on a 20K (+) machine.

    2011stock shocks vs 2013

Even if they fit the cost would probably exceed that of upgrading to Elkas unless you were able to find a 2013 owner upgrading to Elkas. Even that tells you something if you're looking for the best shocks. IMO I doubt the shocks are that much better but the reduced geometry is what's giving the...

Losing Air Pressure in my Rear Shock

FYI, I have a base model without the ACS. I installed an onboard air compressor kit (generally used on RVs). Compressor is small and heavy duty, takes up very little space mounted in side trunk. Have a gauge in panel that you can inflate/deflate at any time and always shows current air pressure...
