• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Seal Floorboard Problems

Now that's a good idea, I may go that route rather than trying to drill the original bracket. My wife is on the short side so the footrests have to be almost all the way up.

    Seal Floorboard Problems

It cannot fall out but it can move or flex up and down when stepped on. It also vibrates somewhat because it is not attached firmly. I was thinking of drilling the rear bracket out and putting a bolt through it, problem solved.

    Seal Floorboard Problems

I installed mine a few weeks ago and noticed the same thing with rear foot rest, I saw on his web site about the new rear pegs for the rear but did not get them when i ordered mine. My problem however is the rubber mat keeps sliding around in hot weather, I removed them, cleaned the surface...

How many of you would buy a new RTS right now, if it came out with a bigger engine?

Four cylinder Rotax and shaft drive could coax me into a trade in.

    California Scientific Windshield

I ordered the medium shield for mt RT last Friday, got it in two days on Monday. It measures 4 inches shorter than the stock WS. I am 6' and it is the perfect height for me, when its all the way down I can just see over the top. When all the way up for highway travel its the perfect height...

the right to left movement while driven,,swaying inisde the lane

I know exactly what your talking about, that was one of the problems I did not like when I got my RT. I could slow down on the turns to help with the roll but the swaying back and forth especially when riding two up at highway speeds was unnerving at times. I went with Elkas and setup from...

    A little warm today

Now that's just to hot for sleeping, in the 50's here at night. H A N has gotten bigger than ever, all of the major Casinos have something going on. No Beach Boys this year however, will miss them, the Hermits sure bring back memories tho. :lecturef_smilie:

Is there a special wave for Can-Am riders??

I don't get as many waves on the Spyder as I did on two wheels. But I figured from the front they did not even realize it was a motorcycle until they were on you.

    Cheap tow behind trailer !

I built this a week ago and for the price ($320.00) you can't go wrong. Holds more than most MC trailer This little trailer was designed for 600 lb loads. It has double leaf springs on each side, first thing I did was remove one of the springs and make each side single, this softens things up...

    Cruise control issue

I think that is the smart way to go. I'm about ready ta just add a 5 wire plug to both the trailer and Spyder and add a center brake light on trailer. Dump the converter and I can still keep the 4 wire plug on trailer connected for when someone else wants to use it.

    Cruise control issue

It cancels with both directions and only with trailer connection so I'm thinking either the load or maybe some feedback causing it. If its feedback a powered converter may do the same thing. I might experiment by adding a couple of diodes to further isolate the circuit.

Video Camera or Accessory Bracket You Can Build

I like that idea a lot if it is vibration free. As good as ram mounts are there is no solid place on the dash area other than the handle bars that is solid enough to mount them. Where did you get the sun shield for the Garmin?

    Cruise control issue

OK thanks for all the replies. I added a wiring harness for my trailer using a 5 wire to 4 wire converter. Not using the BRP trailer or wiring harness. All the lights work like they should, its just the cruise control shutting off with the turn signals. Only happens with the trailer...

    Cruise control issue

Is the cruise control suppose to auto disengage when you turn on the turn signals? Mine has been doing this and cannot remember if it always did it or something I did. And how fast in mph before it will engage. I'm thinking I messed something up causing this. Thanks

    156 miles

When I first got my Spyder I wanted to see just how accurate and how far I could go on a tank of gas so I would not have any surprises. Carried a gallon a fuel with me and drove around town. I was on the last bar with about 165 miles on it. Started up a small hill, engine started to sputter...

Need help setting up Elkas shocks, Apparently Cowtown is now just shipping boxes

I was told that a web site was in the works (from Len I think) where you could enter all your rider specs for the Spyder and model of Elkas and it would tell you the perfect settings and adjustments for your particular ride. Does anybody know if this web site has materialized yet? :ohyea:

    Right vent outlet grille gone?

Same here, asked dealer they forgot grill on right, he says nope. BRP don't want anything disturbing the air flow moving through there, not even a simple grill.

Any one with Order Delays at Kewl Metal

I understand delays, out of stock, whatever! All I want and expect is to be informed if not before hand at least after I submit an order what the status and expected delivery time and given the opportunity to cancel if I wish. If I want the unknown I could buy from eBay. nojoke

    new qauges installed

Very easy, they needed a constant 12v line that I had to run, used the wiring from existing gauges for all other connections. They do have a cool factor, they scroll through all of the led's on start-up and shutdown like a diagnostics and there multicolored. I was going to go with a oil...
