• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    F4 Windshilds

I got my tall and wide F4 last week and put it on. Now all I need is for the snow to go away and the temperature to go up to around 50 at least. I'm betting it's a big improvement but will have to wait to verify it.

Pros and Cons of trailering Spyders

Since I retired we go everywhere. Been from Maine to Alaska, the southwest down to Zion, East coast to NC from here in MA. I have a 7x14x7hi enclosed trailer that tows just fine behind my F350 crew cab dually diesel with a truck camper on the back. WIth the total camper height at 11'2" the...

    The F4 Extra Wide/Tall Windshield

Coming I have one on order expected Tuesday- 2 more days. I'm 6'9" and don't find the 25" touring windshield to be very effective. I also have a Victory Cross Country Tour and it has awesome weather protection. Once I get the windshield on I'll have to wait for the snow to go away before a...

People wanting to borrow the Spyder. What do you say

I have one friend I would let ride my RT. We've ridden together since '68 and he is trustworthy. Besides if he wrecks it I'll take his BMW. I recall my first ride- the dealer just handed me the keys and showed me the start routine, told me to come back in a few hours. I have owned 3 of them...

    6' 2" plus....talk to me

6'9" 320lb I might be the biggest here. My wife and I rode our 2011 RT on a 7000 mile run from New England out to New Mexico and back. At the end of the run we concluded it was too samll for us, that we need a seat that is about 3" longer. I spent a lot of time pushing back and kinda squashing...

    Comfort Seat 2" shorter?

I have the comfort seat on our 2014 RT-L. I had a 2011 RT-S with the standard seat. My wife and I took a 7000 mile trip out to New Mexico and I concluded I could not live with the standard seat. I'm 6'9" around 300 and my wife is not small. I found myself pushed forward too much for comfort...

Exactly what does "Eco Mode" do?

Helpful early on I had an RS and a 990 RT before I picked up the 2014 1330. Today I went on a 100 mile ride and used the eco mode. It was a good way to learn what gear BRP thinks I ought to be in. I normally run the RPMs higher before shifting than the green arrow suggests. I was good guidance...

Thinking of trading my Harley for a Can Am RT. Tell me how much you love yours

I think I see 1000 Harleys for every Can Am I see so if you like to attract a little attention you will find the Can Am is a natural. As for 3 wheel life- not having to put your feet down, backing up out of a parking spot, and general comfort will win over a lot of 2 wheel riders after a month...

    Back again- 3rd time's a charm...?

My dear wife is a fair driver- but she doesn't drive my F350 long bed, crew cab, dually, and she doesn't drive/ride motorcycles except as a passenger. We are all better off for that. She looks at them, thinks about it, but then concludes an accident awaits. I don't try to persuade her different...

Alaska has arrived at the top of my list

Went last year- in a camper Me and my dear wife drove 5000 miles from MA to Fairbanks then all around AK for the month of September, came home in October. Never got even one bug bite as we went late enough in the year to be past bug season. The road were very good with the exception of some...

Your opinion on ABS on trikes - good / bad

Variable traction To me the real life saving properties of ABS come from dealing with real world situations where a panic stop might be necessary on a road that has great traction most everywhere, but there is a sandy spot. You stomp a foot full of brakes to slow way down but suddenly you come...

Like the one at the edge of the picture on the right, not that beauty in the middle. That is one fine looking bike!

    Back again- 3rd time's a charm...?

Hello Spyderlovers, I'm back again on my third Spyder. I had a 2009 RS but the darling wife loved the look of the RT throne and so we got a 2011 RT which was really quite wonderful for us. We rode it from home in MA down to New Orleans and out to Santa Fe when the money ran low and we headed...

How many of Spyder Riders still ride motorcycles?

I've been riding since '64, took up 3 wheels in 2009 on an RS, traded in 2011 for an RT, retired, went broke sold it, fixed my finances, got a Victory Cross Country Tour and my wife fell out of love with it, but she wants to ride- so a 2013-2014 RS-T is coming on fast. I am hot to buy but a...

    Too tall for the Spyder?

I'm 6'9" and around 300 lb. I can't sit further back than what the stock RT seat allows as my wife claims all of the space behind me. I just finished a 7000 mile tour south and west. Yes I fell a bit crowded and coiled up but I stop every hour to stretch, every second hour for gas, use MadStad...

RT TROUBLES......... I HEAR YOU LOUD AND CLEAR

Your state lemon law covers motorcycles and it seems to me you have a case. You do need repair order evidence showing repeated service visits to resolve the same issue, and that 3 tries have not fixed it. Why don't you go ahead and begin proceedings? My experience is that the manufacturer will...

    Where will you put a...

We tucked my wife's MacBook in the Frunk with my iPad zipped into the case as well. Never a problem.

New to the forum and a question

Spyders give a very compliant ride, but, as was noted above the Spyder runs in 3 tracks on the road while a 2 wheeler makes a single track. You hit a lot more bumps on a Spyder. I've gotten used to it now after 3 years on two Spyders but I do recall being surprised at how bumpy the ride was at...

    OGB'S

I have very big hands, which is to say I can wrap all the way around the grip with the OGBs in place so there is nowhere for the seam to be located where I don't feel it. So far I like them fine. A 300 mile day coming up will tell the tale.
