• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    VERMONTERS TRAVELING TO VALCOURT?

Homecoming travel Wife and I will ride to Valcourt and back on Friday, then to Valcourt on Saturday before going to Drummondvile to spend the night. Anyone going up I-91/Aut 55 and interested in taking the more scenic route (247) from Beebe to Magog let me know. We will probably go 247 on...

    brp 2016 trailer wiring harness

Trailer wiring harness This looks like the harness Pierre supplies with his RT hitch. I just installed one. The only thing I can add is that I used a flat blade screwdriver to open the connector that is on the bike's wiring harness near the battery. Get that connector apart and then plug the...

    Passenger Arm rests

Arm Rests I have Corbin and can't recommend them. Delivery time was excessive, installation instructions were inaccurate, and the reinforced screw holes in the arm rests did not match up with the screw locations on the bike.

    Gear position sensor behind sprocket

Gear Position Sensor Had the same problem with my 2012 RT-S SE5. I was 500 hundred miles from home at the time and the dealer I stopped at diagnosed it as a problem with the ECU and he tried to reflash it. This caused the ECU to freeze and that could only be fixed by replacing the ECU. BRP...

    Passenger navigation ideas

Map Holder A friend of mine has had one like this for years that his wife made. She can read a map so it works really well. Only down side is that sometimes he forgets to take it off when he is off the bike and ends up walking around with a map on his back.

    Looking for trailer info

At the 2013 Spyderquest in Lake George, NY I met a fellow rider who had a trailer I was interested in. I wasn't in the market for a trailer at the time, but now I am and I would like to find out more information about this trailer. As I recall he said it was manufactured in Las Vegas. The...

    Rear passenger armrests

Arm Rests I have Corbin arm rests and am less than satisfied. Took a long time to receive them after I ordered them and the installation instructions were wrong. They say there are 2 screws in the trunk that hold the side covers on. There are actually 3 screws, and one is hidden down low in...

    Radio & Speakers & Controls?

Radio use My radio is rarely used. I can only hear it when going less than 50 mph. Living in a rural area where radio stations are spaced widely apart I find that I lose one station long before I can receive another. When traveling I'd spend too much effort trying to find a station I like...

    Northern NY Road trip

NY attractions If your are interested in old boats stop at the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton. Also, boat tours of the 1000 Islands from both Alexandria Bay and Clayton are good if the weather is favorable. Have a great trip. Perhaps we can ride to Valcourt together next June.

    Passenger armrests

Arm Rests I have the Corbin arm rests, and while they seem to work well, I am not very satisfied with Corbin. First, I think it took a very long time to receive the arm rests, considering that they are an off the shelf item as opposed to something custom made. Second, the installation...

    My newest Farkle

Weight limitation The installation instructions clearly state that these are not designed to support a riders weight.

    Going to Valcourt Qb

Wife and I are registered and paid. May just ride from home each day (only 55 miles from home to Valcourt), but might decide to stay if there are evening events we want to attend. Have to wait to see the schedule of events.

Northeast U.S. Trip to Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia ride Not an expert on Nova Scotia, but I have been there several times. Cape Breton and the Cabot Trail are definite musts. Doing the Cabot Trail both ways is best, but if you only have time for one loop go counter clockwise, from Baddeck to Ingonish, Cape North, Cheticamp and...

    Sheffield Financial and Financing

0% with Sheffield Purchased a 2011 hold over Suzuki V-Strom 650 in spring of 2012. Could have paid cash, but the dealer arranged 0% financing with Sheffield for 60 months. I'd already made the deal on price, so the financing was just a bonus.

    GPS COVER

GPS shield I made one out of a plastic food storage container. I cut the container roughly in half (make one piece large enough to go around the GPS) then painted it black. Works to some degree, but if the sun is behind you just keep the GPS in your shadow.
