• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    $10K Spyders for 2019

2019 Project S There were 2 BRP reps (2 guys that said they were BRP) at the recent "Spyders in the Hills" event in Boerne, TX. Both would say that BRP was going to announce a sub-$10,000 Spyder in late 2018. The new Spyder would be for around town and short commuter ryders. Both said...

    Committed

I am now fully committed to the Spyder lyfe. This week I sold my last BMW and watched it ride off. Yes, I was a little sad. Well maybe a lot. Reality for me is that it was no longer safe for the motorcycle or me to be stopped. The probability is that "we" would fall over. I am no longer...

Video of BRP idler "grenade" with 4,000 miles on it.

Bummer I was fortunate enough to hear Lamonster at the "Spyders in the Hills Rally." He said that F3 ryders "should not" install the BRP belt tensioner. When I got home I took mine off. After 1600+ miles the bushing inside the roller was well on the way to being shot. Well poop! On the upside...

    BMW myth

Really There seems to be a lot of discussion here about what I see as a non-problem. Perhaps the other rider was looking at their instruments, or the scenery or something else interesting on the right side of the road, or the cage approaching from their right, or the idiot in front of them who...

    The End is Near

Cold? Think Gerbings! I may have to shift from my mesh riding jacket to my Firstgear Kilamanjaro soon. But then I will have to leave the vents open :) Heading to the "Spyders in the Hills Rally" in the morning.

Why Did You Buy A Spyder?

Reality Reality is accepting the limitations of my right leg before I dropped one of my BMWs. I found a leftover 2015 F3S with a huge discouent and bought it. It was the right choice.

    Baching again

Calling all retirees Yes, retirement is great. I don't know how I got anything done when I was working full-time. Oh, that's right, I was younger then. For those that are interested in travelling north to Alaska, the Anchorage School District (ASD) has RV hook ups at each of their over 90 sites...

    Road Signs

Historical Markers are also signs So if you do not stop and read the historical marker signs you might miss something really interesting. It seems that Aurora, Texas has an interesting past. On April 17, 1897 an "alien spacecraft collided with the tower of Judge Proctors windmill and went to...

    Road Signs

I know we don't need any reason to just go and enjoy the ryde, but when I'm out there I tend to notice road/street signs. Perhaps there are interesting road/street signs where you ryde.

    Saddlebags or Panniers

I rode with soft saddlebags for years with no problems. I enjoyed their low cost, durability, flexibility and ease of removal from the motorcycle. Then in 2004 headed to D2D in Dawson City, YT I had a problem. The saddlebags shifted slightly on a stretch of particularly rough road. They got...

    BRP Power Outlet Question

    BRP Power Outlet Question

I have no electrical power at either the front or rear accessory circuits on my 2015 F3S with key on or off. Test is with a working multimeter. The accessory circuit fuse test ok and has been replaced. The unit is "new" with only 672 miles and just started riding.

    Another new Spyder Ryder

Brunch Where else but through the internet and this website could a new Spyder owner from Fort Worth meet up with a long-time high-mileage Spyder owner from Chugiak, Alaska and have brunch in Peters Creek, Alaska. Thank you akspyderman for all of the information that would have taken me years...
