• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Windshield

And to keep adding to your confusion, I have the Madstad and do like it. I am 5' 8" and used the Madstad recomended shield height. The only challenge I have with it is that because it is infinitely adjustable and I tend to be a little ADD, I am infinitely trying to find a more perfect position...

    Hope you're all happy now!

As a transfer from the BMWMOA (BMW Motorcycle Owners Association) it would appear that some things are universal. Over on the BMW side whenever someone would start a thread asking about tires, oil, batteries, or even windshields the only comment that would make sense would be: "Oh boy, here we...

    Prudhoe Bay Alaska in 2019

The 80 or so miles going north from Fairbanks on the Elliot Hwy will probably be in good shape and have actually been paved. The 115 miles from the Elliot Hwy/Dalton Hwy junction have never been "paved." What is done up here, is that DOT will level the gravel, spray a layer of tar on that, and...

    Prudhoe Bay Alaska in 2019

The Dalton Hwy (The Haul Road) Well, never say never, and don't tell someone that something cannot be done. The degree of difficulty that one is willing to endure is the question. The Dalton Highway is not like any other road you will ever complete. On the way to Alaska on the ALCAN, take a...

    Alaska Leather Coupon Code

Unsolicited Testimonial I've been doing business with Alaska Leather for over 30 years. Through that time I have purchased Firstgear, Gerbings and a sheep skin butt pad. They have competitive pricing and great service. I replaced my first Firstgear Kilamanjaro set after about 100,000 miles with...

    Why so quiet?

I cannot speak for others, but I suspect that most of us see others with bigger challenges than ours and just remain quiet. But to help keep this going: In April 2017 I had an orthopedic surgeon "hit me upside the head" with a shot of reality. My right quad is partially atrophied, and continues...

    Alaska and the Dalton Highway

In the North, the term "highway" is relative. Many are in worse shape that the worst gravel road you can find in the Lower 48. The calcium chloride stuck on my F650GS is like concrete when it dries, and it is highly corrosive. Weather can also be a factor. The snow picture is about 3 miles...

    Alaska and the Dalton Highway

The Dalton Hwy (The Haul Road) I would apply this to any of the many non-paved highways in the North: Dalton, Denali, Taylor, Top-of-the-World, Petersville, Dempster, Campbell, CANOL, etc. These roads are not maintained like a gravel road in the midwest. These are industrial grade roads with...

Interesting Article on Motorcycle Sales in US

Motorcycle Sales Triumph's sales were UP 11.1% in 2017. Also, scooter and moped sales are up. Perhaps the next generation of riders has figured out that in order to tour, the motorcycle doesn't have to weigh so much that it either takes two people to get it away from the curb (or have reverse)...

Trip through western half of USA

Charles Kuralt: "Thanks to the Interstate Highway System, it is now possible to cross the country from coast to coast without seeing anything." No Interstates, no chain motels, no chain restaurants. 300 miles per day on secondary roads is an easy day. Yes, the real roads do take a little...
