• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fan Blocking Plate Causes Heat Damage to RT

heat... I suspect that BRP went to a lot of trouble in their design phase deciding how much exit area was required to dissipate the heat from that radiator. Part of the heated air in the plenum can already exit into the engine compartment, and pushing any more hot air in that direction can...

Fan Blocking Plate Causes Heat Damage to RT

heat... Stands to reason... you've gotta get the heat out of the plenum. Blocking the natural exit and diverting it all into the engine area, that is already hot as the devil, doesn't seem to be a great idea. Out the side and into the airstream seems like the best solution to me... and BRP...

Picked up my new oil change access panel and grill

side panel... Now it all makes sense. From the earlier posts I was under the impression that the panel in question was the oil filler panel. I can see the need to improve the bottom peg area panel. That one was a stinker to remove and reinstall.

Brp HID headlight kit or aftermarket HID kit ?

BRP HID headlamps... For anyone who had installed the BRP RT HID units... Are all of the components contained inside the light housing, or is the ballast external?

    Rear suspension leak

Airbag... Most pneumatic systems (including tires) bleed down after a period of time due to deterioration of seals, hoses, and other rubber and plastic parts. The hoses and fittings used on the Spyder are a push/o-ring style and are more prone to bleed down than AN style connectors. My...

    Rear suspension leak

airbag leaks... Have your dealer do a thorough inspection of the 90º fitting on top of the airbag. Some early RT's had fittings where the silver soldering was faulty causing a leak.

How to deal with the heat???

air flow... The vents on top of the upper side panels just behind the air deflectors have puzzled me from the beginning. It seems like the air deflectors would create a negative air pressure behind themselves, and actually pull air from under the cowl rather than push it down. It would be...

    RT Mirrors..... ugh....

mirrors... No tire balancing issues, lateral engine mount swaybar repaired and O.K., no clearance issues... just loose front pins on the mirrors. My RT is a 2010 and I've had the mirror problem since the beginning. All I know is that this fix cured my problem. :2thumbs:

    RT Mirrors..... ugh....

mirrors... My problem is definitely not a tire, as they vibrate even when stopped. As I mentioned in the earlier post, the top main pin connection is snug, and most of the movement comes from the front lower spring clip. I could never get the two spring clips to maintain enough tension to...

LED Instead of HID Headlights for RT?

LED replacements... Another issue may be the size of the LED vs. Halogen bulbs. I've read on several automotive sites that the LED bulbs are longer, and may not fit in all housings. Any one who has installed an LED replacement in either their fog lights, or headlights, please let us know if...

    RT Mirrors..... ugh....

RT mirrors... I got so sick and tired of mine vibrating, to the point where it was hard to tell the make of the car behind me, that I tried a few things. First off I installed a small rubber o-ring in the grove on the top pin. This stiffened the main mounting point and did remove some of the...

    Rear Tire Wear

RT rear tire wear... Here's what puzzles me... Let me clarify by saying that after the OEM tire wore out at 11k miles, I replaced it with a Kuhmo. At the rate the Kuhmo is wearing, I don't expect to get any more miles out of it than the Kenda. My wife's PT Cruiser weighs 3200 lbs with a...
