• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    WHERE IS SCOTTY AKA NANCYSTOY

I have to agree. When we first got our Spyder in 2012, I used to spend many hours on here reading posts, and enjoying the conversations. Now, not so much. It's starting to remind me of the many car forums that I no longer visit because the information to B.S. ratio is just to small...

    NHTSA complaints, and perspective

That is a good perspective, and probably accounts for most of the "brand loyalty" we see in just about everything from motorcycles to home appliances. The Spyder being my first "motorcycle" in 30+ years, I am lucky to have a problem free unit. If I had had problems like some on here have had...

    Highway pegs seem uncomfortable

I tried using the air deflectors at first just to see how it felt, and had some serious pain. After installing the NBV's, I can actually rest my feet up there, and it feels fine. Before we put the Rivco floorboards on, I used the Highway pegs about 80% of the time. I couldn't stand keeping my...

    Cat delete legal?

Catalytic converters are not only state, but federally required. It doesn't matter what the other guy is doing, it only matters if your vehicle came with one or not. It's up to a $50,000 fine for violations. I'm not saying NOT to do it, or that it's a bad thing, just what the laws are. It's...

    Insurance Rant!

The other thing for me was I went through MY insurance, then they billed the other folks. By doing that, I got warranty on the work, and if I found something a few weeks later that was accident related, it would get fixed as well. Going with the other guys insurance offer, they close the case...

    Insurance Rant!

:agree: When my truck got hit, the body shop was "supposed" to put recycled parts back on, but the manager noticed how well we kept our vehicles (It was a 2008 with 22,000 miles in 2013). Anyhow, he reported that they couldn't find recycled parts, and I got new all around.

    CB radio

I'm investigating the possibility of using an aftermarket CB, and the Sena SR-10. The part I need to find out is if I can use the SM-10 AND the SR-10. SM-10 for my music, and then the SR-10 for CB.

    Earplugs

:agree: There's a whole range of sounds hitting your ear while riding, and 90% of that is junk that washes out the sounds you want to hear. I can hear my surroundings much better with earplugs in, than without them.

    .....and I carry.

...In many states, you actually have a better chance of being killed by a vehicle than a gun... It's all in perspective.. I don't think most people who carry do it to feel "safe", they do it because they can, and they are used to it. Just like brushing your teeth in the morning... I don't...

    .....and I carry.

Actually, it is YOU that does not have a choice. Some people on here carry, some people don't. It's their choice. I don't carry, or even own a gun, yet I respect the rights of those who DO (legally) carry. I will admit that there are a lot of guns in the WRONG hands over here, but I also...

Computer question since I have no grandchildren...

Basically, they will have no more updates, and security patches released. There are a couple of options for you to continue... Instead of using Internet Explorer, use Firefox, or Chrome - IE is integrated into the OS, and even WITH Microsoft's patches, it was a huge security hole... It will...

    GPS - OEM Best Bet?

Lot's of good advice on here... I'll tell you my personal experience / feelings. I have a Garmin Nuvi 205 - real cheap, older model. I bought a RAM mount, and installed it on the RT, and hooked the audio into the bike so I can get the audio into the helmets It works fine. The downside...

    Best Floorboards?

How tall are you? That could make a difference. You always have the BRP floorboards since you have a 2013. They have a "Breakaway" feature where the board will actually tilt forward if you have to use too much brake. Seals are big. they give plenty of room to move around, and one model will...
