• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Airbox removal - Ugh!!!

I've had a set of BajaRon plug wires for about a year now, and haven't installed them. I bought them to take in for my 14,000 mile service, figured the dealer was already there... Well, THAT dealer would replace the plugs, but NOT the wires!! :dontknow: So, anyhow, they've been laying around...

    Tool Kit

I carry a small Harbor Freight tool bag. I moved the under seat tool kit to this bag Added a small compressor, tire plugs and plug tools An assortment of torx bits, I think a 10mm wrench, and wrenches to remove my flags for when I'm on a trip and need to cover the Spyder. Other than that, my...

Tennessee to ban trucks from The Dragon

The GPS leads them there all the time. My neighbor takes his 911 up there twice a year with a group of Porsche guys, and it seems they're always meeting up with a trucker who has gotten way over his head because Garmin took him there. One of the guys in the group works in the movie industry...

    A QUICK COMPARASIN

I think it has less to do with whether WE like it, and more to do with whether the forum owner believes it violates his policies. Since the thread is still here, and unlocked, I'd venture to guess it didn't ruffle his feathers too much. It IS a topic these days, and IMHO, more of a social...

    A QUICK COMPARASIN

:agree: I made this exact statement on Facebook. 1st Amendment doesn't give you the right to say what you want, where you want. It give you the right to make those statements about and to our government - out in public. You tick me off in my house, and you'll get B!@##-Slapped, and sent...

    Echo effect from radio speakers

There are a couple ways to deal with this - Mine's a 2012, so I hope not too much has changed - If you go into the menu, go to Audio settings, there is an option to turn off the external speakers. The other way that I use is to just turn the volume all the way down to the lowest setting for the...

    Am I wrong on this?

While scuffs and heel marks rub out (I've put enough on to know), It's more the principle of the thing. Personal property is personal property. I compare someone sitting on the Spyder the same as someone hopping in my car without permission. Regardless of whether the car has a door that can...

    Recap of 2014 RT Problems

I agree with Bob D. I don't care for these "fishing" threads. If people have a problem, they can come here, ask a question, and hopefully, someone can help them out. That was how this forum started, and how it was up until recently. The more I read, the less I like to visit here anymore...nojoke

That kind of sounds like Lamont's "milk run" a few years back...;)

    A Sad Affair

The problem with bike to bike bluetooth is that you can only pair a limited number of bikes, and you can only have a conversation with one at a time. In the riding groups that the OP is talking about it is a huge benefit for everyone with the ability to hear all conversations. The best setup...

    A Sad Affair

Before being too disappointed with BRP, Keep in mind that they do not make the radios that go in the Spyders. They get them from another manufacturer. That manufacturer probably changed their electronics, and that forced BRP to make changes accordingly. I suspect BRP is as much a victim in...

will someone put up some positive stories about the spyder

23,000+ miles on a 2012 RT. My only negative comment is that I currently don't have the time I'd like to have on it. We have our grandson on the weekends, which prevents us from riding with our friends, and during the week, we still have that other thing that takes up 8-12 hours per day. I'm...

    NHTSA investigation update

Gonna give my opinion, although nobody wants it... NHTSA is dealing with a specific issue - fires. This covers the melted parts, the fuel issue, and other related stuff. 90% of the complaints I've read on here relate to the "hot foot" or other "comfort" issues, and those guys seem to think...

Excessive Heat has been a problem

:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: I honestly believe that the NHTSA investigation doesn't involve someone's foot getting hot because it is inches from the radiator / fan... Nice try though...
