• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Practically Perfect Tankbag!!

I have been looking for a tankbag with way more features than the one offered by BRP since they first offered theirs. I couldn't see paying a hundred bucks for such a plain-jane item. However, the size and shape of the area behind the handlebars available for mounting really limits the selection...

    Forum quirk or operator error??

Excellent!! Problem solved, and question answered (Operator error, or OFOC [Old Fart On Computer])nojoke :2thumbs:

    Forum quirk or operator error??

When reading threads, I often encounter the "more replies below current level" message. When I click on the " more replies," it only displays those extra replies, not the entire thread. Is this just a quirk of the server, or is there a "switch" in display mode to always show entire threads...

    GIVI SR770 tailrack installed

If they claim a universal mounting rack comes with the case, it's almost certainly the E250, as that is Givi's description for that part. I wasn't aware, however, that Givi included any kind of mount with their cases. I think I'd contact Givi USA to make sure. Their universal mount basically...

    GIVI SR770 tailrack installed

Actually the SR770 rack IS hollow underneath, I thought you were looking for dedicated bungee points. I'm sure it would hold hooks, but maybe check one for yourself. They're using that baseplate for most of their rear racks now. I'll try to take a pic from underneath, maybe on the Norge or...

    GIVI SR770 tailrack installed

No built-in bungee points on the SR770. They could be added by putting steel inserts and bungee spools or screw eyes in existing holes not already used for mounting maybe(?) Thanks for the kind words on the Norge. It's probably my favorite Goose, though you probably noticed a couple others...

    GIVI SR770 tailrack installed

Instructions and kit are for mounting to the frame of the Spyder. This rack will not mount to the BRP sport rack. GIVI has a universal tailrack that could be mounted to the Spyder rack, but it has a bit of a "cobbled" look and doesn't match the lines of the machine as nicely as this one...

    Carrying extra fuel?

If you're installing it higher than the fill neck on the bike, a simple hose to the filler is fine (with a valve, of course), keep it coiled and stowed when not in use. That's the way I'd use mine. The tanks are made to be plumbed into a regular fuel line with a quick disconnect. There are...

    Carrying extra fuel?

The TourTank I was thinking of is a two gallon, available with nice looking black nylon cover, looks like an average size small duffel behind the seat or rack. Because I'd move mine from bike to bike, and rarely actually have the time for long trips anyway, I'd probably use it for reserve fuel...

    GIVI SR770 tailrack installed

Here are some pics and notes on installing the new Givi SR770 Monokey Tailrack, which allows mounting of all the Givi Monokey topcases to the Spyder. Here's the kit Four holes have to be drilled in the stock tailpiece with a 3/8 drill and then enlarged to oval shape with a Dremel tool...

    Carrying extra fuel?

I carry two 33 oz aluminum MSR fuel cans strapped together with duct tape on long trips. These are designed for backpackers to carry fuel. They don't leak liquid or vapors. Fuel keeps well because there's no air exposure. Together they give you an emergency half gallon of fuel incase of a...

    Gel_Air Cushions ????

No one has mentioned the wood beaded seat covers, but they work well for many folks. And, a simple sheepskin pad is quite helpful. Get one that has the rubber grip material on the bottom. I think Aerostich (Rider Wearhouse) used to carry a couple sizes. Also Whitehorse Press. Not to bring...

    Rear Shock load

Unless you've already lubricated the spring preload cams, be sure to jack up the Spyder before adjusting preload up front, and, ALWAYS jack before adjusting rear preload (according to manual, anyway) I went to increase the front preload before ever leaving the dealer after reading instructions...

Can Am Spyder of Kimi Räikkönen (Formula 1 World Champion)

Looks cute without the front fenders, but I don't think I'd want to ride it that way over a bit of loose gravel or in weather. Never can figure folks who sacrifice function for cosmetics, unless you just want to look at the machine instead of using it. To each his own...:dontknow:

And you thought it was just old age??

And then, nobody mentioned the effect of seat vibration on the fairer sex. There's even some outfit that makes a special pillion seat that has extra vibration built in. Kinda twisted if you ask me. YMMV:hun:

And you thought it was just old age??

I bet there are other factors at work here, like most guys who have the TIME to ride 3 hours a day are at or beyond retirement age. Besides, don't they make a pill for that now??:shocked:

    Cleveland bike show anyone??

No listing in exhibitors for BRP or Can-Am. Maybe individual dealer(s)? Fun to walk around, kick tires, and check out accessories, anyway.
