• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    I don't assign a date to change. but if you get 4 yrs you are lucky. When I'm not riding every day, I'll plug in the tender too. You know what your starter is supposed to sound like, if it's different, the only place I would ride is to the battery store.

    my 2014 clock was grim alright, but my 2017 is actually correct, and I was really surprised. For me the read out (top right) is so small as to be unreadable , so I got a high dollar ($15) Casio Easy read wristwatch, large bold dial and face, water resistant, black case and neoprene strap.     2018 RTL no FRIKKING 12V Adapter.

    I just got a carry over 2017 and it's 12v is right where it was on my 2014. I wasn't crazy about the "newfangled" display, most of mine is already to small to be useful. I'm guessing it won't be too hard to get an outlet into your top case. Probably sweeter than BRP would do.

    2016 RTL-fog light switch stuck in on position

    sorry, but usually a broken switch will require a replacement. As a side note, I never switch my fogs off. Lights are always the more the merrier.

    tool kit help needed - what is this?

    I use those handy Velcro straps as a helmet strap extension to actually use the impossible helmet hooks. works great. With my latest spyder, the Corbin seat has no provision underneath for a tool kit.

    Fuel

    your ST will kind of "dumb itself down" to whatever octane fuel you are using. Which is handy if you are ryding in Mexico for example. So while it won't be performing at 100% it will not suffer any real problems.

    I have NEVER personally checked my belt tension on any of the Spyders I have owned. I look at where it is tracking on the sprocket after a tire change, but that's it. missing belt guard is cheap insurance for potential stone damage . If you do a LOT of gravel, or too quickly...might want one...

    2017 F3S with F4 customs windshield

    you can ryde without glasses, or visor. I highly recommend that you do NOT. Insects and other items can absolutely fly between you and your new windshield. an eye is a terrible thing to waste.

    I like to shift into neutral before shutdown, so I can start up without having my foot on the brake pedal. If I forget to finds neutral, it is no big deal. Relax and enjoy your ryde.

    If the wallet is deep enough, you can shoot your RS to the moon. Generally there is no better reason to do a project, than because it looks awesome.
