• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Belt Tensioner Roller RPM vs Ground Speed

Just replace it with an SKF 6202 RS which is good for 28,000 rpm. BTW, I Googled Molibus because I never heard of it, and I didn't find anything. https://www.grainger.com/product/SKF-Radial-Ball-Bearing-23Y196

Roller upgrade for Doc Humphries Vibration Damper

Good post Grandpot, and talking about to much grease and overheating I've seen the seals blowout under that condition, and then it's just a matter of time. I've always been a fan of SKF bearings, and the good news for us Spyder owners with the belt tensioner is that the SKF bearing is rated for...

With my F3L it's either greasy pavement, or a brake torque on a high friction surface.

Belt Tensioner Roller RPM vs Ground Speed

The bearing in the Lamonster wheel is a 6202 RS, which should be good for 12,000 RPM. https://www.micropoly.com/technical-information/maximum-rpm-calculator.html So I've read about catastrophic failure when the bearing detonates, I'm assuming this takes out the belt. Since I'm fairly new to the...

    Trailer wiring question

The 5th wire coud be for the lockout on surge brakes, it could be to activate electric brakes, or I'm guessing with the bike trailer it is used for the amber turn signal, it that's the case the Curt 4 to 5 wire adapter I posted above should work just fine.

One mod at a time, done matter if it's engine, drivetrain, or suspension related......One mod at a time so know what that particular mod did to the machine, once you have established a baseline for that mod then move on to the next mod, and so on and so forth. I raced sleds cross country and...

    Being seen

Always be set for evasive action, use your eyes to continually sweep the road ahead and your sideview mirrors. I bit a pothole hard with the rear tire Saturday while out with the wife in the flat Illinois farm country, some cattle and a flooded farm field caught my eye and I tapped her leg...

    What's your best mod?

Bajaron swaybar last year and some LED's for the upper A-arms, the Lamonster belt tensioner is supposed to be deliveed today  Almost pulled the trigger on some Vredestiens a couple of weeks ago, and then I saw a thread about the Kanine tire so now I'll wait for some more real world riding...

    Phone mount

Proven for over 20,000 mogul smashing snowmobile miles at speed, and one rollover (a stunt gone awry LOL) and now 4,000 miles on a Spyder. Ram universal phone mount, it just works and with the jointed knuckle you pick the angles that work for you. https://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-HOL-PD3-238AU

    Trailering Front Attach

Through the rims works for me, the only thing missing in the pics is the microcloth I use between the rim and the strap. I use shock straps on the SxS because of the amount of suspension travel and spring in the tires. I've hauled toys all across North America for the past 35 years, I don't like...

A Tire or a Tired Topic

I chose the Kumho because it was the OEM size, but I like idea of the the maching Vredesteins all the way around. I'm beginning to think BRP chose the queer OEM size just so they can dominate the tire replacement market for Spyders.

A Tire or a Tired Topic

Well if there is anything I have learned since joining the forum last year is nothing gets traction on these pages like a tire topic....;) Anyhoo, after much reading here and 4,000 miles on the Kenda's I've decided to go with Vredestein Quatrac 5 in 165/60R15 up front, and the Kumho Ecsta AST...

Anybody ever accidentally hit the kill switch while traveling over 50 mph ??

I've never done it, but it's good knowing that nothing stupid happened when you did it, the biggest worry would be a lock up of the rear tire, other than that you're bike is all good!
