• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Appreciating my RT fairing

You are right about dressing properly. I have ridden as low as 17 degrees F. and was chilly but comfortable otherwise. Carhartt or similar insulated coveralls along with good long insulated underware help a lot. Doing so on my RT helps a lot also, because of the excellent weather protection.

    Went to the darkside

Three days ago I got new "Dunlop car tires" put on the front of my 2011 RT. So far I like them a lot. I have ridden about 100 miles since the tire change. Steering is more precise and handling is better(holds up better in curves) compared to the original Kenda motorcycle tires. Anyone tried this...

    Appreciating my RT fairing

A friend and I went on a little 175 mile trip recently. It was chilly (50's and 60s). He was on a motorcycle with a windshield and I was on my RT. He about froze while I was quite comfortable behind the fairing with the windshield in the all-the-way up position. I just wanted to comment on my...

    Turned back

My 2011 RT has a standard transmission. Since I don't have to worry about centrifugal clutches, I just ride at whatever RPM I feel like. It makes life more pleasant.

I have TESTED a Different method for carrying Gas for Spyder

I just carry one gallon of gas in a can from WalMart. No mess or fumes.

    Challenging road

What do you mean about taking our darn sweet time in completing the trip? Do you take it easy on challenging roads as I do? After all, my RT is not a crotch rocket!

Not happy with brakes on 2011 RT

I will consider these solutions if I can't get used to the Spyder's brakes. I really do appreciate the info!

Not happy with brakes on 2011 RT

Yes, I know. I keep my foot near but not on the brake pedal. Don't want to give nanny a heart attack!

Not happy with brakes on 2011 RT

I got my Spyder back yesterday. The dealer checked them out thoroughly and said that they worked fine. I test rode it and they stopped fine when you stomp on the brakes. However, I have developed a habit of "lightly" touching the brakes on my other vehicles and gently slowing down. "Lightly"...

Not happy with brakes on 2011 RT

My brakes used to be such that I didn't notice them. They worked well enough. Then I got into Limp Mode and the dealer said Limp Mode was triggered by brake sensors. The brakes were bled but still were not good. The brake pedal is soft rather than hard. When I get by bike out of the shop I would...

    Cruise Control won't set

Mine acted up just before I hit the dreaded "Limp Mode." After that was fixed, cruise worked again.

Not happy with brakes on 2011 RT

So far the Spyder is still in the shop and I've been riding my Honda Shadow Aero 750 again. I still love motorcycles but I miss the Spyder too. They are like two sides of a coin. The same, but just different enough to be interesting. To me, the Spyder is just a three wheeled motorcycle. I hope...

Not happy with brakes on 2011 RT

After a talk with Baja Ron, and still being unhappy, I took my Spyder back to the dealer for troubleshooting and repair. There has to be something wrong! My brakes are pretty bad.

    Challenging road

The road has no shoulders in most places, has many 30-35mph curves, very narrow bridges, frequent deer crossing the road, very hilly, sun in eyes in the evening, etc., etc., etc. It also has a lot of traffic.

    Challenging road

Last afternoon I drove Missouri Hwy 19 from Salem, MO to Eminence, MO and back, about 88 miles, in about a 3 hour span (with a break in the middle). This stretch of HWY 19 is one of the most difficult and dangerous roads I have ever travelled. Anyone else have experienced this road? It is quite...

Nearly going through the windshield is what I am looking for! Thanks!

Not happy with brakes on 2011 RT

I wasn't happy with my brakes so I had them serviced. My dealer bled them but they seem about the same. I am used to motorcycle brakes STOPPING aggressively when you apply them. Mine seem to stop gently and gradually. I'm afraid I won't be able to stop if I really NEED to STOP! Pumping them...

Riding in tight formation at 75+ MPH.

The group I was riding with was a Patriot Guard group. Maybe they knew each other well, and could thus ride safely, but had a deer entered the formation there could have been some dead veterans. I will always ride sweep with this group.
