• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone tried "Speed Bleeders" brake bleeders?

My old girl has been suffering with some spongy brakes for a while. I replaced the pads and bled the system last year but did not do the module in the middle. I want to do it again and this time put in speed bleeders. There have been a few threads posted recently on the subject and it seemed to...

'What options to replace driver foot pegs for Floorboards?'

I made a set for my 2010. I think the options on the older bikes may be getting a bit sparse. Here is what I did: https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?113207-New-DIY-Floorboards-Cheap-TPMS-Daylight-visible-turn-indicators-more-(Many-Pix) This was about 4 years ago and they are...

Amazon - anyone else seeing delivery slowing down?

Not really any changes that I can tell. I order quite a bit of stuff too. It really does depend on where they are stocking the items vs. where you live. Common items are usually at all the warehouses, but less common or items from other vendors that sell through Amazon are a crap shoot. Your...

My 2010 RTS just went up in a ball of flames

Wow, sorry that happed to you. I still ride my 2010 RT, it would suck to have that happen to a bike that had that much history. Good luck and I hope you find another one.

Got an Ez-pass? Where did you mount it on your Spyder RT ?????

Well, I've never seen anything on the VA ezpass site that says what type of vehicle, only the number of axles. Motorcycles are 2 axles just like cars. And you can register the pass to multiple vehicles as well. You have to have the plate number for each vehicle so I assume the system that...

Got an Ez-pass? Where did you mount it on your Spyder RT ?????

If I need it, I pull it out of the truck and put it in the glove box on the bike or one of the aftermarket bags that are velcro'd to the dash.

    998cc 2008 GS SM5 - Engine, oil pump, & clutch Troubles - Need Advice?

Interesting. One thing that comes to mind is that when the PO brought it in, was he having any issues with the clutch? I would think something had to be going on that he was ok with replacing an oil pump. 8K isn't many miles, even on a early 2 cyl rotax. If there is that much crud in the...

Fuel Tank Vent hose route needed... any pics?

I have a 2010 RT and did the plugs, wires, hoses and the canister delete back in 2019 so my memory is a bit dicey on some of the details, but I routed the hose aft somewhere on the left side of the bike (facing forward) and ended it around the back behind the tire. The idea was that if it was...

2012 Spyder RT With Sun Damaged Plastic/Trim - any fixes?

You could also try the plasti dip sprays. It's a rubberized coating, so I imagine it wont go on too shiny and should stick to the plastic as long as its cleaned and free of any oil or wax.

A good write up in Rider online Magazine

When I go out for weekend rides, I usually see one or two, thats if there are lots of bikes out taking advantage of the nice day. Around here it's mostly HD and cruisers in general.

A good write up in Rider online Magazine

Saw that, also in Motorcyclist for an MC Commute: He calls it twitchy, I think that is what everyone goes through coming from 2 wheels. Agree with some of his comments, others eh. Some things like the parking brake take a second to engage, it's mechanical after all. Says it is so much...

998cc 2011 Spyder RT continuing to Stall

How does the bike run at idle? Very lumpy or smooth? Does it do it just when cold or even after it has warmed up. How many miles on the bike? Does it get ridden a lot or not so much? Does it still have a code? If the wires and plugs havent been changed, its probably a good idea to do it...

Need suggestions for loading RTL with bump skid onto trailer??

I have that issue loading mine on the trailer when we take it camping. You can either try and lower the tongue down a bit or raise the edge of the bottom of the ramp up so the angle isn't as great. I use some 2x6 under the bottom of the ramp and that seems to do the trick. I dont have a...

2012 spyder RT been in the shop over 9 months

My concern besides not having the bike is how are they storing it. Had a friend that left the wifes bike at a local dealer and they left it sit outside and it was missing the antenna so the rear trunk filled up with water. If you didnt have problems with anything else, 9 months of sitting...

Need access to lower radiator hose - 2012 RT?

I've had the frunk off my 2010, it seems more intimidating than it is, but it may not be necessary just to access the radiator and cooling system. I would say if you havent already replaced the plugs and wires, it would be a good time to also do it, but I see in your signature you say: 2012...

New DIY Floorboards, Cheap TPMS, Daylight visible turn indicators +more (Many Pix)

This is the rubber block I bought off Amazon for the rear mounts: Carriage bolts are stainless, something like this should work: I'll try and get the measurements a bit later.

New DIY Floorboards, Cheap TPMS, Daylight visible turn indicators +more (Many Pix)

This is the side with the brake pedal: I'll see what I can do about measuring the actual floor boards. At the time I wanted to get 1/4" diamond tread, but ended up with 1/8" which turns out was fine in terms of strength. Since the boards are supported on either end, there is no flex to worry...

New DIY Floorboards, Cheap TPMS, Daylight visible turn indicators +more (Many Pix)

I may, let me check. On the rear, it is a large carriage bolt, but it goes into a rubber square that I drilled a hole for the bolt to pass through. I got the rubber as a block off of Amazon and cut it to size. IIRC I drilled the holes on the drill press first and then cut them apart. That...
