• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Horn upgrade

Your positive mindset is refreshing Bob. This forum is like family. And when's the last time you got together with your family and didn't disagree about something?!

    Helmet holders

My RT had little clips under the seat to lock your helmet to. Can anyone tell me if the 2008 GS has them?

Wasn't 09 the first year for the paddle shifter?

Thanks Bob and Patti. My income may not be what it was five years ago but it'll take more than an economic downturn to keep me from owning a Spyder!

Wasn't 09 the first year for the paddle shifter?

Can't believe everything you read I guess. At the end of a review by Motorcycle.com it says that in 2009 Can Am will introduce a new model, the SE5. It even quotes BRP saying they're hoping the new semi-automatic will appeal to an even wider audience. I knew I'd get it cleared up here. This...

Wasn't 09 the first year for the paddle shifter?

Okay as some of you know my business went into a tailspin which forced me to sell my dearly beloved. My RT - not my wife - for those of you wondering. Well as you can imagine, life without a Spyder has been really painful. I'm looking at a used GS. Low miles. Looks and runs like new. I'm being...

Is Dave still posting Dave and Ted's Most Excellent Adventures?

Hey everyone. Haven't been on for a year or so. See most of the usual suspects are still here so that's good. Don't see anything from Dave and Ted though. Have we seen anything from them lately?

Spyder vs. Conventional Trike - What are the Biggest Differences?

I test rode both GW and Harley trikes before falling in love with Spyders. The difference was like night and friggin day. The snappy acceleration of the Spyder can't be matched by either the GW or Harley trikes. That was huge for me. Plus I like seeing both tires in front of me instead of...

    It's 2015 - no Bluetooth?

I'm just posting this hoping that BRP is scanning these threads. I can understand the early model years not having Bluetooth but c'mon guys - it's 2015. Hardwiring iPods and mp3 players is so 2008.

    Where's your dream trip

I'd start from my house in Maine on the Atlantic, take secondary roads across the northern states to the Pacific Northwest, down the Pacific Coast Highway and then head east across the southwestern states. Across the desert, both panhandles, then up through the Smokies and then through the...

Does ECO mode actually effect throttling?

So if you have a pool would you block off 40% of it? If you have a 50" television would you block off 40%? We buy these things for fun. Why anyone would want only 60% of the fun is beyond me.

Does ECO mode actually effect throttling?

I didn't realize it can be deactivated. I can't speak for others but I don't buy toys like this for fuel economy! But even with that said I realize BRP's need to be be competitive in the market. If I can just switch the ECO off I should be fine. Thanks guys. Once again the wisdom here is...

    NEED INFO. About FLORIDA...

A must do in Miami is El Rey De Las Fritas. Fritas are Cuban burgers and this place is the original and the absolute best. Google it, GPS it and go. If you can eat just one you're a better man than me!

Does ECO mode actually effect throttling?

So let me get this straight. I'm in traffic, need to gun it to avoid some idiot and ECO mode cuts down on my ability to accelerate? Or I'm just out having fun gunning the crap out my Rotax in lower gears and the ECO mode tries to send me over the handlebars? All in the name of putting better...

Does ECO mode actually effect throttling?

Is the ECO mode on the 14s nothing more than a reminder on the screen? Seems like I read somewhere that it actually affects throttling. Is that true?

Do the 08s and 09s have fewer issues?

Thanks. Looking to buy an 09 so I wanted the forum's wisdom. Now about the recalls. If I get the vin is it possible for my dealer to look up recalls that have or have not been done? Will BRP still do recall work after five years have gone by?

Do the 08s and 09s have fewer issues?

Looking for feedback on service related issues on the original 08 and 09 Spyders I've read here that the early models were less problematic. That the relative simplicity was actually a good thing. True?

    Spyders Underpowered?

I read your post and read the replies and one word comes to mind. Safety. Are the ninjas quicker? Most definitely. But do they provide the safety of a three wheeled monster? I think we all know the answer to that. I don't know about the rest of you but I've lost too many friends and yes...
