• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Black Clutch Fluid on SM5

For the record, my fluid was dirty, not gooey. Therefore, I will certainly monitor it and flush it as necessary. I have no problem doing that, but I am still surprised to see it like this so early on.

My first 100 miles on RT S SM5

No doubt that the RT is a luxury liner. My wife and I ride a lot which is why I bought it. If it was just me, I'd have an RS.

    Black Clutch Fluid on SM5

It is not in the Operator's Manual that came with the Spyder. The procedure is in the shop manual. It is the same procedure for changing / bleeding hydraulic disc brake fluid.

Making the 2013 Spyder RT-S "Perfect"

I have not had it done, but I have not ruled it out yet. My bet is that the update did include FI mapping changes. When you look at the adjustments on the PCV base map and the adjustments being made by the AutoTune compared to stock, they are adding fuel to the map. I still think that the OEM...

    Black Clutch Fluid on SM5

Is this up at the reservoir or down at the clutch? I don't see a slave cylinder on the right side of the engine case by the clutch.

    Black Clutch Fluid on SM5

Page 125 of the Operator's Guide says to replace it 14K miles or 2 years.

    Black Clutch Fluid on SM5

Yes, that is true, but that quickly? I've only got 5K miles on it and it is less than a year old. On all of my prior Honda motorcycles, you could go a few years before replacing both clutch and brake fluids and even then, the fluid did not look anywhere near this bad. All is good now, and I...

    Black Clutch Fluid on SM5

I went to move the Spyder out of the garage yesterday and noticed that the clutch lever had no resistance. I checked the ground, but did not see anything leaking. I popped the lid to the master cylinder, looked in, and the fluid was black. I drained it, cleaned things out and replaced it with...

Making the 2013 Spyder RT-S "Perfect"

Today I went through the process of committing the Trim tables to the Dyno Jet base map that I started with. The greatest trim percentage adjustment I saw was 10%. The attached images show the new fuel tables for each cylinder. If you load them into a viewer and then move to the next image...

My 2013 RTS and the evap canister puking fuel adventure.

And I agree with you, but I personally feel that I would not have the time or patience to do what you're doing which is why I typically like to take matters into my own hands which was the reason for my advice. I truly hope you get this resolved.

My 2013 RTS and the evap canister puking fuel adventure.

After removing mine, the fumes are gone and not one drip on the ground. I don't know what to tell you. It worked for me. I'm just trying to help .....

My 2013 RTS and the evap canister puking fuel adventure.

I understand your frustration and disappointment and I know you want to leave things stock, but it is such a simple fix to just remove it. As already stated, it is a design flaw that is not going to be redesigned. It costs less than $15 in parts to remove, your stress level will go down and...

Congratulations! Having a great dealer is a HUGE bonus. Enjoy.

    My Spyder s screwed .......

If it is like the 2013, they are not screws. They are just caps / heads where on the other side is a snap-in. Kind of like pulling the side panel for checking the oil. You just push the panel back on.

    2014 RT-S

Down the road, I will probably have to defarkle mine as well. How many farkles are you able to carry over to the new bike?

    Brand new 2014 RTL

Very nice and congratulations. It is difficult keeping multiple bikes going as well as having the space that they take up. It will be interesting to see what your riding impressions are between the 2011 and 2014. Have fun.

    hand brake

No problem. I get a little too emotional with my opinions as well, so it's all good. However, I think that "healthy" debate is also a good thing in order to really understand other points of view that I am missing - which you guys have presented - so thank you. The main thing is that we are...

Making the 2013 Spyder RT-S "Perfect"

I was very impressed with Len as well. I spoke with him on a couple of occasions before ordering the Elkas and I never felt that he was trying to rush me or get me off the phone. I would definitely do business with him again.
