• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking into a little sports car

Over the years I have had a few. 1972 Triumph TR6, 1979 Mazda RX7, Fiat X 1/9, and 1997 BMW Z3. Drove a early Miata for a bit that belonged to a friend that had a 6 month contract overseas. All were a blast to drive and fairly easy to maintain. Handling on newer tends to be a bit more precise...

Anybody with them installed on an F3? Pictures? Thanks. CJ JAX

    Best saddlebags for 2015 F3-S

These bags from Mutazu are another option. $300 including the mount. Not the fanciest of mounts but mine never come off. They include the brake leds. They could be used with EZ brackets with a bracket on the inside. The top piece can easily be painted to match whatever color you want. Do a...

    Tampa Area

Lived in various parts of Tampa for 27 years. Each has it's own flavor and offerings. Hard to point you in a direction without knowing what you are looking for. Best of both worlds would be finding an area you like that is close to work. I had my company on the campus of USF for years and lived...

    Forgotten Cars from your youth

Had a long list of toys including my '72 Duster, '72 Triumph TR6, '79 Fiat x 1/9, custom built '79 RX7. The Triumph was probably a favorite and more of an accomplishment as I did a ground up rebuild in an apartment parking lot while an airman stationed at MacDill. The first photo was after some...

    Forgotten Cars from your youth

Teacher at school had one and I loved that car. I got the new body style and it wasn't the same.:( Traded it for my Duster and then a custom RX7 with an engine build by a guy that built them for Roger Mandeville who raced for Mazda. CJ JAX

    Drive pulley problem

How exactly did you measure? My engine is out right now getting the transmission replace due to repeated sprocket failures. Curious if we can check/adjust as it goes back together.CJ JAX

    Drive pulley problem

Would have to disagree with you on the flange belt contact squeal from personal experience. I had the noise in the low speed range and when reversing. It was the belt alignment. Confirmed it using a recommendation here on SL to apply a very small amount of lubricant in a couple of places on the...

    Lost Front Sprocket.....AGAIN!

The belt tension could be a contributing factor but there are far too many F3's on the road for this to be the specific reason. Otherwise shops would be overflowing with Spyders in for repair. I have come across about 10 that have posted about having issues on SL another 4 on FB. I learned of...

    Drive pulley problem

Alan, Mine is in the shop for the second time for the front sprocket. Yours may be wearing out the splines that mate with the output shaft as well. The first time mine was failing the belt wouldn't maintain normal tracking. It wandered. Could be you have the same issue. With both of my failures...

    a newbie from FL

I agree with the other comments about the SE over the manual. Was unsure myself but glad I went that route. Still plenty of fun. I added saddle bags I got from the mfg in China. Mutazu sells them in the US but only in black for $300 and it includes the mount brackets. You could probably modify...

    Lost Front Sprocket.....AGAIN!

That was me. Didn't save me this time. I thought I felt something and kept looking. Figured I was gun shy from the previous failure. Then WHURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. CJ JAX

    Lost Front Sprocket.....AGAIN!

Great Dealer Support CFPS Hi Sandra,Nice to see that BRP Cares monitors the board. I have sent the info as requested but I already know that the Central Florida PowerSports Team will be putting forth best possible effort. I mean how many times have you heard of a dealership GM contacting you...

    Lost Front Sprocket.....AGAIN!

I wondered that as well but a through exam was done. A new sprocket was put on mine and the play was measured and compared with the play putting the sprocket on a brand new unit. CJ JAX

    Lost Front Sprocket.....AGAIN!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for winning numbers:yes:. Reading back through the various reports, the F3 is not the only model suffering this issue. It is happening on both 998 and 1330 engines. I have only heard of one RT so I am not sure of the commonality. The belt is different between the F3...

    Lost Front Sprocket.....AGAIN!

Ouch. My first was at 8,700 and second at 16097. Would really like to see it fixed this time and not be a trend. I am lucky that we have an excellent tech (:bowdown:Kenny Butler at Central Florida PowerSports), and probably one of the few that has owned multiple Spyder models and is a full time...

    Lost Front Sprocket.....AGAIN!

Not sure why you are asking about the loctite or lock washer. In neither case did the bolt come loose. Don't know about the belt tension. If dealers are even for the most part following the spec then it would seem there would be a lot more failures. Hmmm..... unless the belt itself is the...

    Lost Front Sprocket.....AGAIN!

The splines on the sprocket have sheared off. The first time it failed I was pulling out of my subdivision and not in real traffic. Today was a different experience as I was in the fast lane two or three back at a stop light. When the light changed everything started moving and everyone was in...
