• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Advice Needed: Aftermarket Seats on STL

Just to wrap up my own post: I purchased a used STL seat on eBay for $50; about $75 with shipping. I'm sending it to the upholsterer so I don't have to stop riding while my new seat is being built. I decided to go with a BRP backrest for my wife. I paid $300 for a used rack and backrest. I work...

Advice Needed: Aftermarket Seats on STL

It turns out the locally made custom seat well cost me about half of what a Corbin or Ultimate would cost. I can pick out materials, stitching, patterne ... It will be made on my seat and have the look and feel I want. The added bonus is that it will be shaped so it doesn't cause me any pain...

    Which model should I consider?

If you are a little more adventurous, consider something that will tap that energy. I ride an STL, but take a look at the F3. Your dealer can set it up to fit you for comfort. If you are only doing day trips, or even an occasional over nighter, the F3 Limited would look great on you and make you...

How to Keep you Wallet Secure

Not for everyone, but . . . If you are into high-tech wallets, here is how I keep my stuff secure while I am riding. I was looking for a solution that did not include the classic trucker/biker look (nothing against truckers or bikers ... all good folks ... but I'm more of a geeky school...

    Heat recall

2013 ST Limited Heat Issue Last year I bought a used 2013 ST Limited. After a couple weeks of riding in August heat, I could no longer take the pain. I found some posts in SpyderLovers that talked about dealers voluntarily replacing 2013 panels with 2014 panels. I went to my dealer and asked...

Advice Needed: Aftermarket Seats on STL

Steve, Thanks for the advice. I may check him out if my other contact doesn't pan out. My friend is just south of Coatesville, so he's a little more convenient for me. Just wondering, how many Spyders are in Parkesburg? I'm in the township, but I see a black ST (or RS?) on 1st ave. Not many others.

Advice Needed: Aftermarket Seats on STL

Sorry to hear you had trouble with your new Corbin seat. I was hoping it would go well. After I get my refund from Ultimate, I am going to go a different route. Motorcycle Dave offered some advice that should help with my situation. Both he and I are a little beat up from accidents, and he had...

Related Questions A couple of questions for you: Did you have to remove the antenna? If so, where did you mount it? Did you add a backrest? If so, is the positioning of it right for your passenger?

Thanks for the Link Thanks for the link. It may be just what I was looking for. I don't know why the silver sport rack is so cheap, but I'm willing to go that route. With the current price of a Givi E470, I could bring the project in at about $400. That's for a silver rack, Givi E470, and a...

Once again, I am looking at adding to my 2013 STL. This time, it's luggage. I already have the hard Givi saddle bags that came with the Limited package. When I bought the Spyder last year, my wife and I bought matching helmets and when riding. A lot. Now we are considering longer trips and would...

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

Name your Spyder I was out riding one day, and all of a sudden, her name popped into my head: "Alon Kama" Pronounced: UH-lon KEH-ma If you don't understand the joke, that's OK. I have to explain it to most people ;) Since I came up with that name, I saw where someone else had something very...

Sena Bluetooth Thank you for taking the time to put together step-by-step instructions. I received my 20s dual pack about 10 days ago. One of them is not working properly. Advice Needed: Aftermarket Seats on STL

I Called Motorcycle Dave Dave invited me to call him, so I did. For 23 minutes, Dave gave me advice on how a motorcycle seat should be built how to find someone who can do it for me. He told me why some seats hurt my knees and what I can do to correct the situation. Instead of saying, "Ship...
