• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    RT non-chipped key

Hi all, I know this has been discussed before but I cannot remember the answer. I am trying to have a locksmith here make me a non-chipped key for use on trunk. Does anyone remember what vehicle key their locksmith used to make their key? Thanks ahead of time for any help. ;)

    Something funny happened today...

I'm sure I know what this dealer was doing and would never do business with them again. They appear to be a "little" dishonest.

ACCIDENT AND INSURANCE BENEFITS - Make sure you have 'Uninsured Motorist Coverage'!!

I have rode with several lawyers who all said that if you were not carrying uninsured/underinsured insurance you are stupid. They said just what others have said on this post and it is good advice. ;)

    Carlo?

Carlo is a great guy, but I think he is gone from BRP. The standard answer when someone disappears is they left for "personal reasons". I think Crystal is our new "Carlo".:opps:

    New trike

The Honda trike is very nice but when you compare the Honda to the Spyder and the difference in price, the Spyder comes out ahead every time.

    mileage

My best riding alone was 28mpg and with 2 up it is 25. I guess I ride it to hard and shift at between 5000 and 6000. My bad but I love to ride it hard.

    First Spyder ride

Had the same problem when I first got the Spyder but after about 300 miles it makes me glad I got rid of the Yahama V-Star.

    Checking in to say hi!

I rode two wheels for several years and than relesid that when you get older things like legs, backs, and other things don't work as well. I bought a Spyder and could not be happier. The wind is still in my face and everything is good.

What were you driving 40 years ago (1971)

A black/white Dodge with a red light on top and a siren under the hood. Not a very good ride but it got better over the years. Wife would not let me get a bike until the kids were grown.:sour:

    Can't stop smiling...

Went on a 167 mile ride yesterday and it was great. We left at 10:00 A.M and got back at 4:30. The weather was great (60-64) and we visited a couple of American Legion and VFW posts. We are now in our great riding season. Hope some of you can get out this way and enjoy winter in the Southwest...

    Rear shock adjust

I agree with Dudley. Read the owners manual as there is a certain way to adjust the rear shock. You can do it either riding or stopped.

Motorcycle Rally in puerto penasco, Mexico (Rocky Point)

I first went to Rocky Point in 1971 with my wife and son. We camped on Sandy Beach for three days and were the only ones on the beach. Anyone who goes there today can only imagine how great it was back then. I traveled in Mexico for many years but will not go back today. To much violence. Every...

Chasing some sport bikes down Mt Lemon.

Remember driving the Mt. Lemmon road when part of it was dirt. Looks like they improved it in the last 50 years. By the way, don't try going down the back side of the Mt. unless it has been improved as it used to be 4 wheel drive only and than only in good weather.:doorag:

    RT SE5 Question

:agree: Hit the "sweet spot" on the RPM'S each time and the up shift is smooth. I let the :spyder2: down shift if I am coming to a complete stop and I down shift if I am only slowing down. :ohyea:

    Oil Check

Thanks Scotty, I added about half a quart today and it came up to just below full on the stick but I had to check it three times to make sure it was OK. I did not want to add any more and over fill it. Good to now I am OK.
