• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First long ride coming, 2015 RTS - any advice?

Don't use a death grip on the hand grips. Leave your hands kinda loose. Makes them steer & handle a lot better. A real Tight grip transfers any movement of your body down to the grips and steering; and you will be trying to correct the steering all the time. A looser grip and the Spyder will...

Alternative heated gear that looks promising?!

Me and the wife both have heated vests. Run off a 7.4 battery, with a USB charge cable. Wife wears hers sometimes when at home in the house and outside sitting. Got her pair of battery heated socks too, she had them on other night when we were sitting outside. Heated gloves also. We have an...

Anyone using Sheep Skin for Driver's Seat? If so, any input?

We left the sheep skins whole. Didn't cut them in half and make 2 pieces out of each skin. Just cut the small piece out for the bracket that goes up to the backrest pad. We cut just a bit of the skin to be more of the shape of seat. If we want to take off the skin, we take off the backrest and...

Anyone using Sheep Skin for Driver's Seat? If so, any input?

My wife bought 2 sheep skins off Amazon. She bought sheep skins that had been treated so that they could be hand washed. That way, if you get caught in the rain while riding your Spyder; or if it is parked out when it rains, it won't hurt them. We both have folding forward back rests on our...

Trunk lock not locking - are they adjustable? Incorrect dealer set-up?

Mine does the same thing - '22 Spyder RTL. I think I saw where you can adjust the pegs (prongs?) and that will fix it. One of these rides back to Vancover, Wa. and I will stop by the dealer and find out.

Passed my Washington State 3 wheel license test

In Washington, you don't need a car license or motorcycle license to get a 3-wheel license. You don't need another license to get a motorcycle license. If you have a car license you still have to have a motorcycle license endorsement to ride a motorcycle. If you want to drive a car; a...

When the wife and I took the test for three wheel to get our endorsement . 2 day course thru FACT safety school. Classroom part day then riding practice. Next day Took riding test pretty easy. Then back to the classroom an took the written test. It wasn't very hard if you had read the book and...

Has anyone purchased a Hitch from Amazon? Pros & Cons?

Sorry no, but I do have a Show Chrome hitch for my Spyder. Good quality, easy fit. Bought through Big Bike Parts. Look around and you might find it cheaper on sale on some sites.

Here's the BRP Catalogue for 2025 - Specs, Accessories, and Apparel

In the parts and maintenance section, guess what battery they have listed? Yuasa batteries. They will sell you a good battery to replace the crappy batteries they were putting in last couple years Spyders. And it sells for $134. That's the battery I used to replace the **** battery that was in...

1330 and Gas Mileage Review - What's yours? Anyone else tracking theirs?

Me and the wife don't worry what our gas mileage is on our Spyders. We get on, fill them up at gas station and head out riding. When we want to stop, to stretch, look at something, or just want to get a snack, we stop and fill up our Spyders, get pop or coffee, & candy bars. And then on the road...

Has anyone tried a Protek Battery for their RT? Is it a good one?

Sorry never heard of that brand. Make sure that it has at least 350 amps I think it's called. Any less and it will crap out on you real quick or it won't start your Spyder. Spyders take all the juice that the battery has to start them. I went with Yausa battery. Think it's on sale on Amazon now...

Front Pulley Failure! Incredibly Poor Dealer Response!

On both the wife and my Spyders when the final fix was done on the front pulley, I questioned the service writer when I made the appointment for the recall to be done. Are you sure I don't need to leave the Spyders overnight for the stuff used on the shaft and pulley splines to cure? No, was the...

Anybody go for a Ride Today? Post about your ride (with pics?)

Rode to Vancover, WA on the 15th, stayed overnight and then came back home. Looked at the '24 Spyders at Pro Caliber. Liked the '24 S2S RT's. Liked the white color on it. A red RTL sure was pretty too. They are still there, I didn't come home with one. I'll have a look at a '25 when they finally...

Need more Rider room - can I modify the pillion seat on RT, 2024?

I had lower back surgery, and I couldn't ride more than an hour or two without a backrest. Once I put a backrest on, I can ride all day. Once you get your Spyder set up for you to fit on it, you might find that a backrest is what you're going to need to help you ride.

So many complaints about the Spyders. Anyone with no problems?

Haven't had any trouble with my '22 RTL. Well, I guess I did preventive maintenance - I took out the cheap battery and replaced with a Yuasa battery. My '17 RTL just needed the ride height link arm bolted on, and a hose clamp replaced. After that, no problems with it. The Wife's '19 F3L has had...

Did my own 3000 mile oil change - not a big deal

I wonder why no one jumped in on him about torquing down the drain plug? I'm not getting on you about this, but from reading on here in other oil change posts... Anyway, just a light turn of the motor drain plug after it touches is enough. If you see it drip a drop of oil, then tighten it just a...
