• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Replacing guages

Ambient Air Temperature Gauge I mounted a digital voltmeter gauge on the left side and a digital ambient air temperature gauge on the right side. The sensor for the air temperature gauge is mounted in the front right air intake tunnel on my RT. This position gives me the most accurate readings...

    GloRyder praises!!!

Sue if you want to see what colour you received just install 3 AA batteries and flip the small switch on the control board to "Show". Don't forget to turn the switch back to auto before you replace the cover (2 set screws attach the cap to the circuit board housing) or your lights will never...

    SUSPENSION QUESTIION

I believe stock shocks are preset at 3 at the factory. I adjusted my oem shocks on my 2010 RTs immediately to the highest setting (5) and played a bit with the front tire pressures to find that fine line between comfort and handling. Ran with these shocks for two years. The shocks on later...

    lower wind deflectors

The Baker Air Wings are definitely the way to go if you want more air directed at you during the warm months, and less during the cooler months. Some do indeed remove the lower deflectors during the summer as well. Spyderpops is coming out with a lower block off plate for the Spyder shortly...

Custom Dynaics HMT brake light installation

The only other issue was that I didn't get the light mounted properly before it wouldn't move (which was almost instantly) - the light is away from the vertical part of the trunk on the right side just a bit - I don't think that the wire was the problem, but it could be. Seems that maybe a...

    Security System Question

I installed a very basic (read inexpensive) security alarm at the "urging" of my insurance company. :dontknow: It is the base Gorilla Motorcycle Alarm that retails for around $100.00 I believe that it would take a well coordinated team of professional thieves to pick up and cart away a Spyder...

    Spyderfest Suggestions for Next Time

Spyderfest 2012 was superbly executed. The group ride routes were awesome, and judging by the sheer number of participants that joined each ride, they were all a huge success. One suggestion that I have concerns the passport runs. It might be helpful to some to include a brief description of...

    Custom Seat Cover

$190.00 U.S. Here is the page that gives you the details: http://www.luimoto.com/product_info.php?products_id=2447 P.S. Unfortunately they do not offer a cover for the RT. I wrote them and asked.

    Rear Tire ???

Switched out my OEM rear tire to a Toyo Proxes 4 car tire (same size as OEM) at about 11,000 miles. I have only put about 8000 miles on the new tire so the jury is still out on its durability. Looks to be wearing evenly as compared to the pronounced center wear on the OEM that you noticed...

New helmet law coming to BC first of June 2012

"Minister of Justice and Attorney General Shirley Bond said the provincial government intends to move forward with a graduated licensing program that includes power restrictions, following additional consultation to determine the best model." I believe that the new laws aimed at reducing...

SPYDER RT PASSENGER ARMRESTS FROM DIAMOND R ACCESSORIES

They are somewhat adjustable, but only by about an inch or two. If you want them lower I believe there is a part on the base of the arm that can be switched around to drop the armrests for those wishing a lower position. At least this is what the vendor explained to us when I posed this question...

    Elka Shocks!!! The Best!!

Have to agree with Firefly on "tweaking" the Elka's for the type of feel and performance you want while riding. I had the front Stage 1's installed on my 2010 RT on Wednesday afternoon at Spyderfest and did the Rock Ride first thing Thursday. I noticed a definite improvement in handling with...

    Co-rider feedback

Initially, my wife would hold on (:yikes:) to the passenger handles whenever we entered a curvenojoke. With time she now only grabs for the handles when we are going through a series of tight curves at very high speed. I had a set of Elka front shocks installed on my 2010 RT at Spyderfest last...

    RT Hitch Racks

Rivco Here is a site where you can purchase a hitch rack for your bike. If you already have a hitch you can mount the adapter to the hitch and slide the rack into the adapter and remove it in a few seconds. My rack has been used on my last three bikes (RSV, GL1800 & Spyder RT)...

    WASHING THE SPYDER

I use car wash detergent because it is clear coat friendly. I would suggest you use a low pressure nozzle to rinse the Spyder and don't go crazy with the water around the dash area. That being said I have never had an issue with water seeping into the gauge area and I have been through many a...
