• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Winter - Ride

Our snow has melted and we've been 60 for two days, but I can barely get my truck down our quicksandy dirt roads, let alone my Spyder (nearest pavement is 1.5 miles away). But I'm glad for all you folks who can ryde already!

Interesting Article on Motorcycle Sales in US

It's been happening even in the horse industry. Costs have skyrocketed, from droughts decimating hay crops to crazy insurance rates to boarding or trainers fees for those who can't keep their animals at home. The cost of showing - trucks, horse trailers, insurance on everything including the...

It's because the overheating issues were solved that now he'll need to make a campfire! No more staying toastie all night by snuggling alongside your Spyder!

    Do Spyders have "black boxes"?

I've never owned a cell phone, and the more I hear stuff like this, the less likely I am to ever get one. And when the sad day comes that I have to euthanize my F250 and get a new one, if it's got GPS in it so that they can always track me, I'll find a way to disable it.

    Do Spyders have "black boxes"?

Yes, he meant that driverless cars don't recognize MCs, so I'm very glad to read your post. Doesn't make me feel much better, though. As soon as I start seeing them around here, especially on our rural roads, I'll no longer road-ride my horses or quad, or maybe even my Spyder. It's just...

A button that I can press to raise my Spyder 6 inches higher when I'm ryding on dirt roads or our mutilated paved roads. A button that I can press to raise a 4 foot pole with a large rotating red light when I'm ryding in heavy traffic. A button that I can press to raise and unfold a cab to...

    Do Spyders have "black boxes"?

Thanks for this info; I'll pass it on to our ABATE members (that the black box has been proven to be our property). OMG, autonomous cars ... the ultimate proof that we've gone completely insane. And, according to our Michigan ABATE secretary, they're our biggest threat as "there is no...

    Do Spyders have "black boxes"?

Orwell didn't have a CLUE of what was REALLY going to happen!! (BTW, if you love your drone, don't hover it over my farm or my shotgun and I will mistake it for skeet).

    Do Spyders have "black boxes"?

Since that day has already come for employers (like the aforementioned UPS), it's probably already here for the entities you mention. In fact, at least one insurance company advertises letting you stick a thingie in your car to track your driving habits in the hopes of letting you prove...

    Do Spyders have "black boxes"?

Actually, I just meant it'd drive me insane to be working for a company that knew every move I made. The overall control of my COW (y'all know by now that I call our Spyders Computers On Wheels, right?) by a computer that can screw up myriad functions that I'm perfectly capable of handling...

    Do Spyders have "black boxes"?

Yup, this was the direction our group took the discussion, which was why I wondered if the ABS was only a fraction of the log's info. Reminds me of our UPS guy. When I asked how many starter motors they go through by requiring their drivers to shut off the engine whenever a homeowner steps...

    Do Spyders have "black boxes"?

I wondered about the BUDS stuff and whether our ABATE guy was basically talking the same thing, but I never heard the term black box in relation to bikes before. The group actually talked about the box being retrieved after an accident, likening it to an airliner, and we also half-joked about...

    Do Spyders have "black boxes"?

At our ABATE meeting tonight, I learned that if your bike has an ABS (anti-lock brake system) it probably also has a "black box". This is the computer's log of every computer-referred move you've made within a certain time frame, although I'm not clear on if it's limited to braking. Hence...

    Spyder RT Reverse Gear

When I bought my newly assembled 2015 RT-S SE6 from the dealer, they'd successfully had it in reverse a few minutes before I arrived to pick it up. But when I immediately test rode it in their parking lot, it refused to go into reverse. They too could no longer get it to reverse, so they...

    Would you ride over this?

Absolutely, I'd go over it ... if I was heavily sedated, blindfolded, strapped to my RT passenger seat, and hypnotized to believe that we were just moseying down the dirt road in front of our farm.
