• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

14K service and OOOOPS! I don't think this is good!

Hopefully they get you in and out quick. I'm thinkin I may should dive in and check mine and do the loctite 'just in case'. Seems our BRP friends should put a service bulletin out to do just that if it's happened more than once, which it apparently has. FOD running through the engine on it's...

    Dealer Prep

Mine didn't fill the tank but did take it on a test ryde. They don't do that on initial assembly, they do it after purchase. They do one prep to roll it out onto the showroom floor, then another prep after purchase that took a couple of hours, including a test run. I'm happy, everything worked.

    My dealer experience this morning

You're not that far, I'd call Brewer's in Henderson, NC. They likely won't be as cheap as the mail order folks, my RT-S was 24,9 in October, but they are a darned good dealer and provide excellent service. These guys assemble the machine correctly and they don't screw around in the office...

Motorcycle Etiquette: How Not To Wave Like A Dork!

Give a sport bike rider the 'boot' wave and you'll likely get a return.

    New helmet

Shoei. I had an evo modular (I think they called it 700 or something like that), it fell off the seat of my Tiger 900 at a fuel stop, with chin bar in fully locked position, and chin bar broke clean off. I rode as far as a cyclegear store and bought my first Shoei. Hit a deer at high...

    Decisions, decisions

I did the 2012 to 14. No looking back. Besides smoothness, power, handling, you get much better mgps and no valve adjustment. Yes, the maintenance savings and mpg increase will not pay for the bike in even 100k miles, but it's a nice sweetener to get you into the 1330. More juice for all...

    Serious Question about Summer Riding

Full face, camelbak. I wear the camelbak doing longer woods rides too (on the KTM). On long distance rides I stop every 90 mins anyway and get off the bike, top the tank, walk around, do whatever it takes to get my head back out of tunnel vision.

    New girl on the block

Welcome!!! I've got the same machine. You'll love it.

New Spyder so of course it snows

Congratulations. Yes, know the feeling, and don't even have the snow excuse (much, we've had some). I've just slowly reached the point where my 'ride no matter what I've got the gear' mentality has changed. Sure I've got the heated gear all that jazz, but if it's under 30f now I just don't...

Dealer has a used 2014 RT LTD

Nice! I paid more than that for the 2014 RT-S, but of course it was many months ago before the 15's came out. I've seen posts here about new 2014 LTD going for that price but everything is YMMV. I personally chose the S over the LTD because of the look, price wasn't really in the equation...

    Cat Location on a 2012 RT SM5

Mine is usually on the seat, and she doesn't like it when I tell her to move so I can ryde. ;)

Upgrade 2014 Rt to F3 performance

Keep the RT stock, buy a 'Busa. The F3 test drive was okay but it's really just an incremental upgrade in the straight-line (cornering was very solid though). For power though you can't beat the power to weight of the sport bikes, we're talking acceleration that makes it hard to breathe and...

    Price Check for 2014 RTL

Buying local does matter for some dealers. There are many names for it, preferred customer or something like that, where you get head of the line in service dept over someone that didn't buy the machine there. There's also the need to keep a local dealer, if enough people go for the cheapest...

Texas puts three-wheeler (SlingShot) in legal limbo

Yup, my KTM 450 is the same year as your 250. Because the original owner put the parts on and took the time to have it titled as a street bike, mine is worth quite a bit more and I keep tags and inspection on it, have an extra set of wheels with DOT knobbies to pop on for dual sport...

    Thinking of Going Heated Gear

warmnsafe.com or firstgear (same stuff). The guy behind warmnsafe designed the original gerbing heattrollers and owns warmnsafe. His gear is great and he stands behind it. He's also a year round rider and a nice guy. Wife and I have full sets, jackets, gloves, pants, socks, although I...

    1000 miles and still smiling

Enjoy!!! I think I'm around 1600 myself. Usually I'd put on that many in a month and it's been two but weather has been 'uck'.

13 RTS out. 14 RTS Congac in.

Congrats! I'd have liked a mulligan myself and not bought the used '12 and gone right to the '14, but having the '14 now makes it all better :).

    mpg

That no eth will make a difference. Unfortunately they only carry the premium no-eth here now in the summer months. We have 87 octane no eth year round. My 2014 has proven to be VERY temp dependent for mpgs. Riding in the high 30's, low 40f's drops it down from 39-49 to 31-34 on the same...

    New 2014 RT-S Delivered Tomorrow

I hear ya, I went from the 2012 A&C to the 2014 RT-S and even with only 4k on the clock my 2012 was valued under 13k. Not much you can do, depreciation is what it is. I'm much happier with the '14 and that's what counts.

    About Those Dealers

Couldn't have said it better. I paid a premium for mine to get from a local dealer with a great service reputation. Sure, you can save 2 - 4k buying from the cheapest guy on the Internet, but that same guy assembled the machine. Then you're back at your local dealer for warranty work and...
