• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Refueling RT

And in Texas, the nozzles are different from station to station. I usually get my car gas at Sam's, but the nozzle system there (vapor recovery sleeve has to be pulled back about 2 inches) won't work on the Spyder. So I go to the Valero station that has just a bare nozzle, no vapor recovery...

    Question on Helmets...

Hey Stormtrooper, where'd you get that helmet in your avitar picture. Looks like it would be very protective! :joke: We've gone with the Scorpion EXO also. Good fit. Some have said they are too heavy, but I found it to be just about right for me. The ventilation could be better, but I ride...

    Blessing Hotel

We might be up for that. My wife works almost every weekend now, so getting a weekend off to ride is a chore. Now that we're getting double digits, might have to wait until the heat drops off a little.

    Memo to self... and others

Southeast Texas in the summer, you don't notice the heat is on until it is too late.....and then it takes forEVER to cool off! :yikes: :chill:

    Hydroplaning

Not sure I agree with jamming on the brakes while hydroplaning. Slowing down is the key, but getting off the gas and letting the vehicle slow down on it's own seems to be a better idea. This has saved me quite a few times too. The other day in my Highlander which has anti everything, I...

    Fuel In Tank "Boiling"

I guess as we get older, we tend to forget the important stuff. Just the other day I realized that I had forgotten the Alamo!:gaah:

With the little tires, max speed is 55 mph. Good for around town, not sure I'd want to take it on the road.

    Owner id not valid

Discussed before here http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20789 The second and third character are the year.... 10 for 2010, 09 for 2009 etc. Once you have that, the rest of the characters will be easy. Don't wait for BRP to answer. I gave up after 3 weeks.

    Useable downforce

Altonk, I agree with you on all points..... but the wing would have to be pretty big to get enough air at turning speeds. How about incorporating this technology? Overkill? Probably.

    GPS Wiring

From another thread http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20322 I've got a 12v "cig lighter socket" with alligator clips on the ends hooked up to my battery and plug the Garmin in under the seat. It is functional, but not "technologically correct". I use it for my cell...

    It is hot here . . . . .

Strange summer..... Our temps have not gone above about 95 and have stayed in the lower 90's for the most part. Of course, humidity has been in the 80's giving us heat indexes in the 100's. But usually, we are hotter than you guys up north! And I want to thank each and everyone of you for...

    Useable downforce

I'm not sure where you would put the wing where it would get enough air to provide enough down force. The driver would disrupt the wind flow if it were on the back I would think. And yes, I've noticed the over-steer. It isn't to the point of the nanny kicking in, but as you go into a turn...

    Clutch Recall

I agree, used many an o-ring over and over as long as they are smooth and round. But I don't think the dealer will go for it. They aren't very proactive. I'm not having any problems with the clutch, so I can wait.

    Help for GPS Mount

I've got a 12v "cig lighter socket" with alligator clips on the ends hooked up to my battery and plug the Garmin in under the seat. It is functional, but not "technologically correct". I use it for my cell phone too.

    Clutch Recall

I was the first one in the dealer inquiring about the recall. I got the letter the same day they got the notice. When I go in, the service mgr tells me I'm number one on the list and he sees my ticket every day on his desk with 5 more under it. And he's still waiting for the washers. :sour...
