• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Comfort seat

Amazing!! Thanks for The link, it was amazing! It kind of looks like if I want to move rearward I'm going to have to spend big bucks to get a custom made seat. Youre right about the STS seat, it is SOFT but it bugs me. After a couple hours I'm constantly trying to reposition myself. I'd at...

Best spot to place jack under a rs

The center frame just behind the sway bar is a good place and I too recommend jack stands to secure afterwards. One note though, the frame is slippery smooth painted steel so the part of the jack that makes contact with it would be best if covered with some non-slip material (rubberized Matt). I...

    JT's air filter

I asked my dealer also and he was very reassuring that this procedure had no effect on the warranty!

    JT's air filter

I also have the pre-filter and I find the resulting sounds rewarding and more like a sophisticated set up.

    JT's air filter

I just had my dealer put on JT's air filter when he did my 4500 mile service. I was surprised at the complexity and size of the air box/resonater that came out. Now it's such a simple system. Can someone enlighten me to the thought process behind what was there verses what's there now? By the...

    Seeking advice

I've only got 4500 miles on my STS SE5 so I'm no expert but I'm a lot more comfortable now than 2000 miles ago. It was a love/hate thing. I don't mean to sound trite but I was fighting it too much. Once I loosened my grip, braced myself into the turn and now added Bajaron's sway bar, I feel more...

I finally did it! Bajaron's sway bar!

During a turn the bike doesn't lean as much (flatter stance) resulting in the rider not having to lean the other way as much. Plus it seems to have more solid steering on a not so consistantly smooth road.

I finally did it! Bajaron's sway bar!

So it wasn't my imagination. It is firmer. Aluminum is certainly better for "heavy loads" than plastic. Thanks for your help.

I finally did it! Bajaron's sway bar!

Today I installed Bajaron's sway bar links too. I hadn't replaced those when I did the sway bar install. But I started thinking about it and decided to upgrade those too. Now it might be my imagination but it even seems a little bit more stable. They are solid aluminum, the old ones hard...

I finally did it! Bajaron's sway bar!

I'd say the difference is about 6/7, with 1 being no difference and 10 being extreme difference. It feels tighter and flatter while turning and more stable during cross winds. Dealer was going to charge me between $300/$400 to install. I bought a good jack, jack stand and car ramps for $150. So...

I finally did it! Bajaron's sway bar!

Yes I'm looking forward to many more "stable" miles ahead!

I finally did it! Bajaron's sway bar!

I just installed Bajaron's sway bar and there's definitely a difference, much flatter and more stable. But what a task to install it. Getting it up the required height wasn't so bad. Plus after I got it up there with a jack I put enough cement blocks under the tires to make sure it stayed up...

    MY NEW SIDE PANELS

Yea the Panels do make a noticeable difference at speed but not so much in town. Although the heat point location changed. Even at that, once you can get it back up to speed for a while, it does cool back down.:2thumbs:

    New Side panels

Don't get me wrong, there is a difference on the highway, it's just the start stop stuff that still bugs me. But with all the good folks here I'm sure I'll find some good solutions to help control the remaining heat. JT's air filter maybe, some holes cut out underneath to help let the hot air...

    New Side panels

I wish I could agree but while the heat levels on the two replaced panels has changed, there seems to be considerable heat still at the forward edge of the panel not replaced on the side at the lower left calf just above the ankle.
