• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Seal floorboards and brakes

I got the brake "riser block" and installed it. I made a slight modification to the brake pedal when I first got the boards to make it a bit higher. One of my concerns was the brake pedal/pad coming loose which it did on my way to Boston a while ago. When I tried to tighten it I stripped the...

    XM in "glove box"

I'll let you know The tape blocked the signal, but I am curious what would have happened without the tape. I had my garage door opener in my glovebox as well and it was fine My feeling is it will be fine. I'll let you know after a few extended rides in the heat.

    XM in "glove box"

I considered the heat I used the liner because it gave me a good place to mount the unit and also "may" keep it a bit cooler The unit is old so if it gets heat damage i would not be out much. Even the new units are inexpensive since they want your monthly fees. Sort of like cheap printers...

    XM in "glove box"

I had my XM unit mounted in my trunk but wanted a way to change channels without getting off the RT. I had an old XM unit and took the insert from the glovebox(that I didn't use anyway), and made a cut out to fit the radio holder. I had to drill a small hole in the side of the glovebox as...

    Riders new Exton/West Chester Pennsylvania

There are a lot of fun places to ride around here I always get interesting looks from the many Amish folk I pass in Lancaster county. Especially the children. Send me a private message and perhaps we can get something started in our area.

    Any thoughts for arthritis comfort

Many thanks As always, I appreciate all of the suggestions. I plan to try the suggestions. The thought of giving up riding the RT, or for that matter my bicycle is not pleasant.

I love my Seal Floor boards

It is but there is no definitive answer. Thanks, that was the original post, but I am not sure if there was a final outcome to how much or how to pay.

    Any thoughts for arthritis comfort

I am starting to have some finger/thumb pain which my doctor confirmed is the start of arthritis. He also said it will get worse, and there is no real cure. I love riding my spyder, as well as my bicycle, but noticed as time goes on the hands are getting more uncomfortable on any ride longer...

Seal Floorboards new brake pedal shim.

How do you order? If I recall his original post he did not want to accept pay-pal because the pay-pal charge seemed high versus the $10.00 selling price. Is the purchase method still to send a check or money order? Thanks, and yes I need to find the original post where this may be answered.

I love my Seal Floor boards

Adding Seal Floorboards floorboards was the best thing I could have done to my new Can Am. My wife, who often dragged her feet on the brake-pedal occasionally putting us in "limp home" mode, no longer has that issue. She was a bit unsure of the comfort when "piloting" the RT, but the floorboard...

    Riders new Exton/West Chester Pennsylvania

Id love to find a group of local riders my wife and I could ryde(sp) with. I see there is a group in Pa, but Pennsylvania is a larger state. We currently ride with a motor scooter group and the people are great, but it would be fun to have some more Spyders in our midst.

    On the fence! Help

I hate the expression "pulled the trigger" It sounds like the purchase is going to be deadly or something(which it could be if your wife gets mad enough at the purchase). On a different more positive note, I had a 2010 RT and sold it to go back to a maxi-scooter-A Burgman 400. I convinced...

**** "DO'S & DO NOTS" for NEW SPYDER OWNERS... ****

I like the advice I started shifting at a higher RPM and found it shifted much smoother. I guess for me somewhere around 3500-4000 works well. I used to try to keep the RPMS as low as I could to "help my gas mileage," but discovered I seem to do better at higher RPMs. It is difficult to get...

THE BEST Spyder Service in the Philly Metro!

I realize this is an old thread I bought my RT from Leisure equipment and have been very happy with both their sales and service people. I would love to find some other riders not too far from this dealer to enjoy some group riding. I live in Chester Springs. It is almost exactly 20 minutes...

Helmet... no not a debate looking for options

Ruined the helmet The problem is (and a very expensive problem!), I kept trying to compress the foam, then I tried to shave a bit off to make it fit. Nothing seemed to work. The bottom line is, after all was said and done, I cracked the foam and created a flower pot or paper weight. I know a...

    Helmet Accesories

I hope I am not causing a problem posting this here, but I was not sure how many people looked at the for sale area. I recently replaced my Shuberth C3, I needed to because I finally decided "it just didn't fit." I bought the "SRC" intercom when I got the helmet, since it is made for the C3...

Helmet... no not a debate looking for options

Shoei neotech I had a C3-A terrific helmet, but the shape is not for everyone. I guess my head is towards the oval side and I always ended up with a C3 mark in the center of my head. Revzilla, said that it very common, and often is not felt when you initially try the helmet on. I wore...

Great response from Border Patrol Agent

I had a cop pull me over A police officer in a neighboring town pulled me over. I asked what I had done wrong. The reply was something like, "you haven't done anything wrong," but I always wanted to see a Spyder up close. I volunteer as an EMT in the town the cop was from and invited her to...

    2010 RT vs 2012 RT

I had a 2010-now a 2012 At the risk of jinxing myself, the 2012 has been trouble free. The 2010 had many recalls-they were fixed, but it was also in the shop a lot. I imagine a good dealer could do al of the recalls on the 2010, and the machine would due fine. I and others had to "suffer"...
