• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Hot weather High Humidity-Veskimo

I am someone who gets overheated very easily, and was trying to find a good solution for the hot temperatures and high humidity days, since I like to ride year-round. I looked at evaporative vest, and so on, but they all seemed like they would only be effective at high speeds. I cam across a...

Updated Info on RT/RS SE5 clutch "fix" campaign

Glad mine was fixed I am glad I followed up with my dealer a couple of weeks ago having read Lamont's comments. It took some doing but the dealer finally gave in and called BRP and found out there really was a bulletin on the issue. MY parts were backordered, but for less than a week, and...

    The attention is nice however.....

When I first got the RT I loved the attention, now it has become almost too much. Everywhere I go someone wants to discuss the RT. They want to know "how fast it goes," where the dealers are located, who makes it, the mpg, and the price. The price is often where they stop saying "I could...

    Advice for a driver-to-be?

I've never ridden my couch so I can not compare That should have read "The RS was faster off the line." Neither is real fast nor real sporty, but both are fine machines. Both are a lot of fun. Buy a crotch rocket or a Ducatti if you want true power, off the line speed and so on. I liked my...

    PA Ryder get-together?

Ephrata used to have a Sunday breakfast There used to be a Sunday breakfast that the American legion put on for bikers. My scooter club-I used to ride a Silverwing and still belong to the club frequented the place. That is where I saw my first Spyder and decided I wanted one. It is about...

    PA Ryder get-together?

Boalsburg is a three hour trek for me. I probably could do it, but with our trip on the 27th I think the six hour back and forth might be a bit much, otherwise no problem. We are away from the 27th-July 4th but i would love to meet up with a group of fellow spyder riders. Why does Pa. have to...

    PA Ryder get-together?

Hi all I live in Chester Springs Pa. We are leaving on a trip on the 27th, but I would love to try and meet up with the group on the 27th. I need to figure out where everyone is coming from, but it sounds like fun assuming I can get my packing and so forth done by the 26th. Bob

    Advice for a driver-to-be?

No sport in the RT? I am not sure what that is based on? I have owned both an RS and RT. The Rt was faster off the line, but the Rt certainly has a degree of sport, and does so without the uncomfortable leg position, at least for me. As far as commuting back and forth to work, I do prefer...

    DOT and Modular Helmets

Its the 2nd heaviest helmet made-or was I own a shark evoline helmet and it is great except, the thing is so heavy that my neck hurts when I wear it, and if it is in the "chin-bar back position," it feels very off balance. There are so many nice helmets made for the European market, I wish...

    Some simple solutions

Several people have noted that although there is an ipod plug in the trunk, there is no way to secure the ipod/iphone properly. I used a simple belkin case for my iphone. If I did not use a belt clip I could have simply attached some velcro to the back of the case plugged it in, attached it to...

    Starting

It's old age I did a search, and realized this issue has been noted, and in fact I replied to it. This has me worried. I am almost 57, and my RT post memory may be the first thing to go! So as Rosanna Rossanedana used to say on Saturday night live-NEVER MIND

    Starting

I have some concerns (don't I always) about how this machine starts when it is warm. When I had the RS it would start quickly the first time I hit the start button. After the RT warms up, I have to hit the button 2 or more times before it "kicks over" and then it starts to idle very slowly...

    Recall 2010 Rt clutch issue

Had mine fixed yesterday I more or less badgered my dealer into calling BRP a few weeks ago and they were told there was going to be a recall but they would send the parts out as soon as they were off of back order. A week later my dealer got the parts, the dealer had received the recall...

Hope this info gets out to all 2010 RT/RS SE5 owners

I got my dealer to cal BRP three weeks ago I mentioned the stalling problem to my dealer prior to my 600 mile service and they said they had never heard of it. Finally after many calls and showing them copies of posts on his board regarding the problem they called BRP. BRP told them they were...

I am afraid I may have gotten a lemon for an RT

All seems well I have built a better relationship with the dealer and owner. We compromised on the pickup/delivery. Yesterday they picked my RT up and brought it to their shop for the clutch update. They called BRP a couple of weeks ago and discovered, yes there was a bulletin regarding the...

I am afraid I may have gotten a lemon for an RT

I have roadside I was told since the RT is drivable that they will not pick it up. The other problem is that I did not buy it from the closest dealer but the one I liked the best. I understand they will only take it to the closest dealer. My dealer is picking it up from me tomorrow.

Limp Home............I was already at home

What exactly is "Limp Mode?" I know read the manual, and I am happy to report it has not happened to me yet. No doubt I have jinxed myself, however I was curious. The Spyder is going in for the SE transmission fix Monday-yeah!!

    RTS hard to start

It all sounds technical to me Mine does the same thing sometimes, but now I know to twist the handgrip on the right side to avoid the problem. Kidding, I am not that inept, however this is a very complex machine with the computers fly by wire throttle, RF controls and so forth. I wanted to...

Probably a silly question however I had to ask.

I noticed everyone on here goes for a "ryde" rather than a ride. And also that we are all "ryders" rather than riders. I assume that is in deference to us being on a "spyder," rather than a spider. Yes I know I wasted valuable board space.

    limp home again !!??*&*###

I believe I think the clutch back-order situation is resolved. That is my understanding anyway. I have been riding my RT-S with only infrequent issues, but also do not want to go too far until I know the SE clutch bearings have been changed, I hope by weeks end my dealer calls to tell me...
