• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Awesome sidecars

Don't know about a 1200 but I believe that a few have been converted to late 70s early 80s R-80s with good results. RAL

    Awesome sidecars

One of the fun things about it is the look on peoples faces when you finally convince them that it is a new bike not the result of restoration project. The front disc and the modern carbs tip off the bike savey but even then many just think that they are part of the rebuild. The Red October is a...

    Awesome sidecars

Ancient...thats part of its charm. Like the Spyder it is not for everyone. With your interest in vintage bikes I am surprised you do not have one in your collection. Shame on you!!!;) RAL

    Awesome sidecars

The Red October is a sweet looking unit. I was thinking it would be pretty cool to own for street use( too pretty to beat up in the woods and it is one wheel drive) when I found the Spyders. The Urals are not for eveyone, you will be happier if you don't mind twisting a wrench once in a while...

    Awesome sidecars

Not hard just different. I had forgotten how different till I jumped on the Ural the other day and had my first mishap on her. I put her into the fence next door when I made the sharp up hill right to go up the driveway. Buggered up my left turn signal and brused my pride. Damn Spyder is so...

    intermittant squeal

As the header says. Picked my Spyder last Thursday and it has a high pitch squeal from the rear that comes and goes with no apparent pattern. Rear bearings? Teething issues......??? RAL

Auto Tire on Front of the Spyder

Come on mr crusher. It is not a conspiracy, I don't think anyone said it was, its a busness. They want to make money. Nothing more nothing less. Offering a safe product is in their best interest. Some options may be better but the profit margin is less so.......its busness:dontknow: Someone with...

    What Was Your First Motorcycle?

A 1975 root beer brown Kawasaki KZ 400. She had a disc brake and pushed about 35 HP. Great first bike. Rode it like I stole it right from the start. Would give the Yamaha 650 twins that were common then a run. I paid right at $1200 for her. For another $600 I could have got the KZ900. Thought...

    The Spyder Computer?!

Are you sure? Can get all kinds of gizmos and widgits to analize, adjust and tweek the brain in your car or truck. What makes this different. Fact is they were forced by law to standardize the access connection on cars and trucks to make it easier for non factory personel to work on the rigs. RAL

I'm New - Questions on The Can-Am Spyder

The best motorcycle for winter and crappy road offroad use is the Ural Gear up or Patrol. Me thinks you will tear the Spyder up in a Newfy winter. RAL

    600 mile service

I was quoted $600 and change from the service rep where I bought my machine.:yikes:I would like to have continued doing busness there but I refuse to be violated. $233 while much better still seems a bit steep for a oil change, look see and hooking the bike up to a code reader. RAL
