• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Agree or Disagree

race drivers AND, I would have expected, a long time California Highway Patrol officer - whose job was driving and, as I recall, is trained in the art of driving as part of the job. It's beyond me how, with his experience, he couldn't have stopped that car ... but somehow, he was not able to...

Charger Question - Battery Type - Which Charger

Battery Tender Junior +++ - I use them on my bikes, quads and motorhome (both for engine and coach batteries). You can leave it on forever, and not worry about boiling the battery out. Several years ago, I was using a trickle charger, such as you show in your picture, on my MH's engine...

Thanks for the heads up - mine's resting comfortably in the designated clip, but I'll keep an eye on it.

    Agree or Disagree

I wondered this, originally, when I first heard the story... facts that came out of it don't answer all of the questions - but, he was a long time CHP officer, in a rental Lexus with 3 additional family memebers in the car... no training or experience with the vehicle. It was a new one with the...

    PROS and CONS

Pros: Ungodly amount of fun Everybody loves it Brings out the kid in me Great 2 up machine Cons: My skinny butt won't let me ride for more than an hour or so without stopping (even with the Comfort seat) Gas mileage I just can't ride often enough!

What do/did you do for a living?

I've been an Electrical Engineer for around 30 years, for 2 small companies, working primarily in unusual DOD applications - lasers and electro-optics, robotics and soldier weapon (manned and unmanned) sensors and systems. The last 3 years I've been consulting - so my time is my own now, and...

    What to do (steering revisited)

Interesting thought... and I suppose it could be determined through some simple testing under controlled circumstances - Does hitting the kill switch disable the DPS, and, if so, would it be a simple solution to relieving the 'sticking' issue if it arises? The first question would be easy to...

    RIDE-ON "vs" SLIME

Not doubting that it works, Lamont, as so many have suggested... I just thought Scotty could help me understand the physics of the process. We engineers just have an obsessive/compulsive need to know WHY (just ask my ex-wife). No insult intended!

How old were you when you bought your spyder? what are your thoughts on it?

52 (29, till I look in the mirror), my first road bike - I've been off roading forever. I Saw it, had to have it. It's been a total blast Gene - my version would be: "Those who live by the sword get shot by those who have stayed current with technology." :D

    RIDE-ON "vs" SLIME

Scotty, can you provide your input/experience as to Ride-On's ability to correct for inherent imbalance in the wheel/tire? I don't see, from the physics standpoint, how this would be likely... the vibration frequencies I would expect to see during rotation just seem too high for a passive...
