• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    JT Air filter kit.

I also discovered the you CAN get to the front spark plug without removing that entire box, you just need to remove the front section that has the air filter in it and use a long extension. Of course with the filter box gone its a piece of cake to access it.

    JT Air filter kit.

If they are fighting them then they are trying to take shortcuts to get that huge box out of there. I got mine out and back in the same day on my RT, it's fiddly but it can be done. You don't think your dealer has to cut it up to get it out for service cause that would be costly.

    New Air Filter

Yes but it's no picnic to get the main airbox housing out and then back in but I was able to do it with out any damage or cutting anything. I will tell you this though, if you don't mine the extra noise the bike has way better acceleration with the air filter on it. I had some people tell me...

    New Air Filter

Well I tore down the bike today and got mine installed. It's not gonna work out for me so I tore it back down and removed it and put the stock air box back on. I don't care for the extra engine noise that the bike has with the factory box gone other than that it was a simple install and...

    another ride report vertika vents

I have and trailer mode with no trailer sucks for town riding. You can not even shift into other gears between traffic lights without revving the engine so high you look like one of those crotch-rocket kids racing between lights. That's not my riding style. I can get my spyder into 3rd and...

    New Air Filter

Yup got mine today as well, nice piece but don't really care for the blue color but I can live with it.

    Oil check confusion

Get the oil level where it needs to be and then check it cold, make a note of where it is on the stick then you can check it before you start it up and have at least a decent reference to the oil level. On my 13 RTS the cold level is right at the bottom of the stick just over the solid part into...

    Tri-Axis Handlebars Installed

The instructions are wrote assuming that your a tech. They leave most of the steps out because (if your a tech) you know how to remove all the prior parts.

    Squeal

Yes there was a thread on a thrust washer on the back side of the shift housing that was causing that squealing noise. I searched and can't locate it either but it seems that it was added info on somebody else's thread?

    another ride report vertika vents

I would think so. It forces the bike to rev higher before allowing the next shift and in town that would have a serious affect on mileage, out on the hiway not so much. Even the guys that tow trailers say there is a mileage drop between the weight of the trailer and the higher rev shift points...

    another ride report vertika vents

Are you still riding in "trailer mode" with no trailer? That would really hurt your mileage a bunch when town riding.

    2013-9 Update

I haven't done an accurate check but I'm right in that range.... 32 mpg so far but it's iffy. I will agree that the bike does run way way better with that update done. Heat seems better to but only time will tell with that issue.

    New Member ?'s about RT's

If you could swing the cost go for a new leftover 13 model. With the latest updates from BRP it seems that a lot of the heat issues might me taken care of, I know it made a huge difference on mine. However if your budget is used then look for a 12 model as it seems to have all the 10 and 11...

    Learned Something About Ceramic Coatings

I think that would depend on if the carbon fiber shell is an actual part of the muffler or is it an outer shell to make the muffler look nice. If the outer shell gets really hot during use then yes he's right but most motorcycle mufflers get warm but not excessively hot during use. I have the...

2014 RTL PULLING TO THE RIGHT?

Just swap the front tires left for right and see if it pulls the other way then you will know if its the tires. Won't hurt to run them backwards for a few miles to see if that's it and it's easy to try.

3 Wheels vs 2 Wheels - My Story

Having rode 2 wheelers all my life I have also decided that my Spyder is the answer to keep riding yet increase my margin of safety. I think a person would be hard pressed to dump a Spyder, I think you would be thrown off before it would dump with you on it. Although fighting with a large animal...
