• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    First Ride of the Year!!!!

I couldn't resist any longer, it has been a long winter in NE Ohio this year; however, I had to take the cover off my 2012 RT and ride her for about 30 minutes. It felt good!!!

I think I am at a croos roads

Well, I admit I'm a rookie and I'm young (44 years) old. I bought a 2012 RT A&C last year and put about 2,600 miles in it. This is my first bike of any kind, as a result I'm a conservative rider. I'll typically ride at posted limit or up to 10 MPH above. I bought the touring model to do just...

How to prepare for long-distance touring

I'm still a novice spyder rider. I bought my 2012 RT A&C SE5 brand new last June and currently have about 2,600 miles on her. I would love to come to Spyderfest but I am concerned about the length of the trip (~750 miles one way). Any advice on how I can prepare myself for such a long haul...

    Blue Spyder Club

Purchased my 2012 RT A&C in June of last year, got about 2,600 miles on it thus far. This is my first bike of any kind. I'm gonna want to get a trailer, seems like it's going to be tough to find one.

    It is Cold Outside!!!!

OK, what is the coldest ambient air temperature that you've riden your :spyder2: with just layers on (with none of the fancy heated gear) and still felt remotely comfortable? It is unseasonably cold here in N.E. Ohio and I just don't want to put her up. On the other hand, I don't want to be...

    Heated Gear

I just don't want to put up my Spyder for the winter. It is already getting chilly here in northern Ohio. Any suggestions on heated gear I could purchase to extend my riding later into the year.

    New Spyder RT

I am 800 miles in and riding the :spyder2: is starting to feel like second nature. I posted on this board within my first 200 miles how terrified I felt on the interstate, now, it feels as though I am gliding. I have a 30 mile commute to work and I have ridden it about 5-6 times now. I have...

    exhausted

Just dropped my 2012:spyder2: RT A&C at the dealer for my 600 mile break-in inspection. I felt the same exhaustion after my first few rides, but that is certainly starting to wane. Also, I have gotten extremely comfortable on the interstate.

To SHIFT or NOT TO SHIFT

Nice!!! This is great info guys. I'm going to practice this when I get home from work. Thankfully, I only have 185 miles on my bike thus far, but I have been doing alot of shifting at relatively low RPM's.

    Still trying to get comfortable

Thanks for all of the great feedback!!! I have been bitten by the :spyder2:. It has been a blast to ride and I'm sure I will get more comfortable with more seat time. I have only logged 170 miles thus far.

    Still trying to get comfortable

I've had my Spyder for little over a week now. I feel pretty good riding around town with speeds maxing out around 45 mph. This weekend I ventured out on the freeway to see what it felt like and I must admit it did not feel very comfortable once speeds exceeded 65 mph. I could feel the cross...
