• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Recent BRP Email for 2023 model pre-orders

Peter, I admit that I’m pretty much old school, and heck, just plain old. In that sense, I hope that your prediction is still some time off. It may be inevitable, but to make a full switch from ICE to battery in only one model year would be quite extreme. I’m aware that Dodge recently decided...

Recent BRP Email for 2023 model pre-orders

I received an email from BRP yesterday with what I interpreted as a really odd message. The title, to start with: "Grow your fleet"??? :dontknow: The message: "Once they're gone, they're gone"? :banghead: I'm not sure if this is just dumb marketing or if it's intentionally cynical. Given...

Can you pair apple EarPods to spyder

It should be possible. It's a Bluetooth connection, and that doesn't require anything special. AirPods do pair up more readily with Apple devices but they are not limited to that. Bob

    Can-Am didn't get the memo I guess - 2023 Electric Motorcycles release....

The street model looks similar to what Zero has done the past few years. It will be interesting to see how BRP matches its competition in terms of performance and pricing. Given they are 2-wheelers, I'm not a customer. If released in 3-wheel form, I'd be at most a "maybe" particularly if they...

Has anyone got the permanent fix for their sprocket?

I got the recall notice months ago, but based on what I've seen here on SpyderLovers I am NOT taking my Spyder in for the preliminary service just to avoid the situation of being told not to ride it at all until the permanent fix is ready. Nobody knows when that will happen either. It's long...

What's the difference between an RT and a Sea to Sky?

I had a chance to look both RTL and S2S over a couple of months ago. I agree that the HyperSilver with chrome would be my choice of the two. I'm not a fan of matte paint. Great looking Spyder! Good luck with it.

    First ride today

The belt will also move quite a bit when you use reverse. I agree that forward in a straight line is more accurate.

    Checking for rear speakers.

They should be in the front lower corners of the trunk.

When and where was the first time you rode a Can-Am tryke ??

After a high side totalled my trusty RoadKing in 2017, I spent about a year recovering and trying to overcome the loss of equilibrium that resulted from the accident. It was apparent that a three-wheeler was a better choice for me, but I wasn't sure what to try; I only knew I wanted to get back...

Beware of ethanol in Loves Truck Stop gas!

I had a job driving a tanker for a couple of years, but all I hauled was Jet-A, so there is no need to divide the tank into compartments. A compartment is used to separate different fuels - regular from premium, gas from diesel. These tankers are typically used for delivery to the retail...

Beware of ethanol in Loves Truck Stop gas!

Love's buys their fuel from the nearest source, they do not have their own refineries, so I suspect there would be variations from one area to the next. But I agree it pays to read the labels, otherwise you just don't know.

    Viking Cycle Apparel Sale

Some attractive pricing, but seems like almost everything is out of stock. At least, everything that has a chance of fitting me. Sizing also doesn't seem to match with "normal" US sizes. Like the size 46 rain suit; normally a 46 (chest measurement) wouldn't come close, but their size chart says...

Wow! Great write-up and great pictures. I feel like I'm "watching" a documentary, good job of taking us along for the ride! Thanks for these posts!

    Solo to Alaska

As someone who spent most of two decades running cross-country as a solo 18-wheeler driver, there were very few times when I was genuinely and truly helpless due to a mechanical problem. Even then, it just takes time (sometimes more time than you'd like) to find help. My experience is people in...

    RT Limited dark vs chrome

I had a chance to see a 2022 RTL in the Hypersilver color. I liked it quite a bit, more than the matte finishes, even the Mystery Blue on the S2S. For me, though, I like having the chrome bits, even if it is kinda old school. Good luck!

Red Dust of Death Recall???? Front Sprocket Recall - FINALLY....

I asked the local dealer to check, and my 2019 RTL is on the list for this recall. No telling when the parts might be available though. Their status is "pending".

    Seen Everything - Electric HD!

With a $30K price tag, and limited range, the LiveWire has mostly been expensive showroom furniture. My local HD dealer had the 2020 LiveWires on the floor for more than two years, I guess someone must have bought two of them but all I know is two are still available.

Is this Free Play in the drive train normal??

Below 1500 rpm or so, the SE6 disengages from the engine power. You can feel this when you come to a stop. The last few feet before the stop are in a disengaged or "freewheeling" mode. If I'm not mistaken, the SE6 transmission shifts to neutral when the engine is shut off. I'm not sure if it...

What works for Brightening/Shining Chrome Wheels?

I will put in a plug for Nevr-Dull, currently made by Eagle 1. It's a cotton wadding soaked with a petroleum solvent. Yes, it takes a lot of elbow grease to work, but boy does it work. Take a wad of Nevr-Dull and rub (usually not very hard) until the surface is smooth and has a black oily layer...

To kill or not to kill (switch), that is the question

There is another use for the kill switch on a 2-wheeler I haven't seen mentioned. For all the time I rode Harleys, I would use the kill switch to cut off the engine if I parked on a grade. Leave the bike in first gear, kill the engine, let the clutch out, and use the stopped engine as a parking...
